Whether the site will remain isn't as important as whether the site will be active and if it is, will it be a hive of obnoxious pricks? After all, you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. The users' overall attitudes and the environment surrounding a community will change over time. Most older sites I've been apart of grow more and more closed-off to new blood as they age.

Idk. I think it would be cool if this site and some others I frequent stayed around that long. I kind of don't think they will though.

This forum will probably be done by 2030. And that's being generous.

Almost everyone in the first few pages is already gone from the forums, case in point. And that was only 10 years ago.

I think forums as an overall whole will be gone. Whatever the next social media platform/voice chat sites are around those times will be the main go to.

Probably just more reboots in the same succession that is/was the average messenger, Skype, Discord... Largely just the same thing every time with a new look. And further dumbed down Reddit/Twitter type stuff. All of it just long text strings of babbling and few to no solid conversations to look back on, or even reopen the conversation, like you can do with forums.

2054 is 30 years from now, like 1994. Both Laird and Eastman probably gone. Celebrating (?) TMNT's 70th anniversary. Most of the musicians and actors we grew up with gone. Our parents and most of our family members gone and some of our best friends gone as well. Lot of loss to deal with and health issues becoming a part of our daily life.
Will comics still be around? I guess so. Any TMNT iteration still going? Probably not. What kind of device we will be using to access the web? Maybe glasses or some wearable stuff. Maybe something interacting directly with our brain.

Yeah. The new children of that time will be calling the things we're discussing here as "retro". Neuralink will implant the replies as a screen like in VR where you can talk instead of type. After all, facetime and video calling first appeared in Demolition Man. Now, we do it everyday. Physical forums as this will be obsolete.

Hell some of it won't be retro anymore, that'll be antique.

Exactly! The 80s things we are celebrating here now regarding TMNT will be the antique things at hand.

I suspect it'll either be me or Cubed shooting the breeze debating which one of us is the one to turn off the lights and post dead last

I hang out on the discord, which started life as a tumbleweed district and still functions as one.
