Legendary talk show host Phil Donahue has passed at 88. He was known as the "king of daytime talk" with his talk show Donahue being the first to have a format of audience participation. His interviewees included JFK, Johnny Carson, Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Elton John,Joe Frazier, Jerry Rubin, Noam Chomsky, and his most frequent guest Ralph Nader. Oprah credits him as her inspiration. He won 20 Emmys, the Maggie award, the Peabody award, was inducted into Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame, and this year received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
