About to go make some burrito-ish things.

P.S. Didn't just have it (though still a recent taste test) but that bubly Sparkling Water is god awful. Imo.

Maybe it's sparkling water for beer lovers, I dunno. I just know that I don't care for sparkling flavored waters that taste like jet fuel. My sister had gotten a similar product some months ago which tasted very similar and we likewise thought was terrible. What happened to the days when sparkling water was the likes of Clearly Canadian?? (Which is supposedly back, but I've not come across it yet. Loved that stuff in my teens.) Granted this one probably lacks the sugars and calories, but geeze, far better tasting flavored water could be easily made at home.

Made these burrito things with these tortillas/soft taco shells I got yesterday. While my diet by most standards is probably going to be regarded as rather crappy, at this age I'm trying to find easy, better options; aiming for choosing whole wheat/grain stuff, etc. These tortillas I found, Mission brand "Carb Balance" whole wheat... I'm like some old lady anymore actually trying to pay attention to the fiber in stuff. (As it certainly does help my own tummy issues I'd put up with for far too long.) But most of today's foods contain so little, which is why I was shocked that these tortillas I bought are 26 grams for ONE. (A grown woman should aim for 25 grams daily.) Wow. Add in some refried beans and it's plenty for the day out of just one small meal, which is so hard to do!

KFC for the first time in over 10 years.

I hated it.
And mostly, I hated myself.

I just made bacon and onion penne pasta, with a homemade "alfredo sauce".

And by god, the sauce is glorious, especially for what ingredients I had.

That being the bacon grease, pre-shredded parmesan and half&half. But the bacon grease - and leftover pasta water - has created some awesomeness.

Birthday cake at work.

Apparently we have at least a few Aprils among co-workers. (Including myself a week from now, but at least unlike the others I won't have to spending it cleaning up our empty store.) Doesn't surprise me that some of the more driven workers turn out to be Aries and Taurus people... lol

Hey, us Sags are pretty aggressive and dedicated too! Some Sags are very ambitious too.

Anyway, dinner tonight is spaghetti and garlic cheese bread.

I just made simple Alfredo sauce from scratch.

"True" Alfredo sauce is basically just enough butter and Parmesan to choke Paula Deen, but it's so good

I had to use pre-grated cheese, though...

Will be having steak and pasta salad later tonight. Tomorrow is our anniversary, but since he has treatment and I work tomorrow, we are doing our dinner tonight.

Just finished our anniversary dinner. In addition to the steaks (he nailed them, btw!) and pasta salad, we had basil corn and "ranch style" beans. So good! I love a man who can cook!

Interesting, I've still never learned how to cook outside very basic stuff after 30+ years. Maybe I should look into this.

Same, girl! My boyfriend has made some pretty good pizzas. And I've made pastas when I visit.

Leftover meatloaf sandwich from a restaurant...most of my food decisions today have been weird and regrettable.

Cooking isn't really hard. You can always find recipes online or cookbooks at the library or bookstores. Once you've made something a few times, it's easy to do yourself without referring to a recipe. Heck, if you get good with a particular recipe, you can even try playing with it to make it your own.
