Sony's Spider-Man 3 (Out of the MCU, Back In Again, and BEYOND) - Page 55

I’ve seen it three times now. Some of the highest moments in a Spider-Man film, but with some of the lowest to counter that. This film asks so much of you - and in the end, it’s worth it - but I think there were better ways to fill this story out and unite these versions of Spider-Man.

It’s like if your friend drove halfway across the country to surprise you for your birthday, and then cluelessly re-gifted something you bought for him years ago. How are you going to be mad at the guy? You’re happy to see him, despite his lack of decorum.

I really thought after Tobey returned to his home we we would see a small scene of him and MJ living together married with their daughter or something. I'm surprised they didn't do that to give him closure.

Well, apparently it was either divorced and broken marriage to return home to or just don't show anything at all. Those were the only two options on the table.

Wow, how very 'uplifting'.

I can't understand what people loved about this movie aside from nostalgia riddled fanservice (that I didn't think was very good either)...

As I said in another comment in this thread, I enjoyed Homecoming, but damn, I feel like Watts really doesn't understand or even like Peter or the cast (including the ones he created). If he believes audiences wanted to see Tobey's Peter living miserably alone at the end of this then he's just delusional. But then again, most people loved this movie overall, so maybe I am wrong, and seeing Tobey Peter living in the same crappy apartment from the Raimi movies, crying over a broken marriage would've gotten a standing ovation from theaters worldwide.

Peter said in the movie he and MJ have made it work. Watts wanted it one way and was told to go another.

She made the right decision either way, they're both in their mid-20's, by the time they got to their early 30's they would have gotten divorced anyway.

glad she wasn't asked. she is the worst part of the Raimi films. Her MJ is so unlikeable. It's always me me me what about me with her.
