Can be a problem in couples when one person needs noise and the other does not, in the case where the background noise is something like music (and not the soothing kind) or pod casts rather than the gentle noise of a fan.

Whatever is comfortable. Given the heatwaves that we've been having during the summer in the UK this year - usually just laying on top of the duvet and trying not to end up sweating too much.

More recently and often, with a big giant dog curled up beside me trying to spoon. She takes up about a third of the bed and likes to wedge herself in between my wife and I, so I end up twisting into some awkward positions to accommodate them both but it works out alright. I've actually never had more restful sleep, no kiddin'. It's like having a big stuffed animal that cuddles you back, it's great.

I've always slept either on my stomach or on the side, but lately I've somehow got into the habit of sleeping on my back, like most people do. I guess also cause I'm getting older so I just pass out no matter what position I'm in.

I sleep on my side with a fan going every night. Dead silence is, ironically, louder than a fan and keeps me up at night. And if I try to sleep on my back, I end up hurting my chest.

I sleep on my stomach usually, lights off, nothing else, I used to watch tv and sleep, turning off the volume when I'd get tired but not anymore

Tv on low and on the timer, fan only if it's too warm.

I need a fan to hit my feet and only my feet. I need background noise because of my tinnitus as someday it gets really freaking loud and I need to sleep on my stomach.

It depends on the weather - I'll have a couple of fans on, the AC if it is really hot. The colder months usually don't require a fan.

I start off as a side sleeper. How I wake up tends to vary.

Also, I'm a fan of leaving the radio on in the living room.

You know, it's weird. As a kid until like 16, I would always easily fall asleep flat on my back in bed. Easily. Now I can't even fathom doing so. On my side, always now. Left side. I guess that's better for acid reflux and all that... even though that's the side the wife is snoring/contorting limbs at.

Come now, we've all heard about how horribly dangerous it is to sleep and exist in...Maine. /s

Can I suggest the Alaskan king size bed? That I didn't know was a thing until recently.

But putting a fitted sheet on it sounds like a nightmare, plus the cost of that bedding set must be absurd.

Well, there's usually a wall she builds of pillows between us when she commits to sleeping. So there's that. It's as much a sound barrier as it is protection from stray lunges and kicks.
