If we're going back to cartoon crushes that changes the entire game, sh*t gets much earlier AND much weirder.

FIRST first? Obviously I can't say with 100% certainty but the first female cartoon character I remember making me feel funny in the pants was... Rainbow Brite. Keep in mind I WAS F*CKING THREE YEARS OLD, OKAY??? I don't think my Mom quite understood why I, a boy, wanted a Rainbow Brite doll; I think my Dad got it, however.

After that and around the same time would have been Teela, She-Ra, and probably She-Ra's entire supporting cast. And Cleo from Heathcliff; she had it goin' on with those leg warmers. And then about a year or so after that would have been Cheetara, who I will remind everyone was Naked As F*ck in the first episode of Thundercats even if her nips weren't visible. Still, 4-year old Me was f*cking thrilled with that, and every time the episodes looped around to the beginning again I couldn't wait; you "couldn't see anything" but just the fact that she was in fact "naked" had me feeling all naughty about it, like "Am I even supposed to be seeing this...?"

That gets us through 1987 and after that it's all the usual ones; FW April, Gadget from Rescue Rangers, so on and so forth. But keep in mind I "woke up" mad early and so my first crushes would've been like 1984-ish or so.

First human being I had a strong crush on was probably Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice. There were plenty of girls I thought were pretty or "hot" before that but that was the first one I was obsessed with, to the point where I'd rent the movie and after I watched it in full I'd just jump to all of her scenes.

Like, before that I always thought Sigourney Weaver was hot in the Gatekeeper Scenes from Ghostbusters, but I also kinda thought she had thick ankles and that kinda took a point off. I don't know why the f*ck I'd have a hangup like that, but to this day I watch the movie and I'm like "Yeah, that's sexy as f*ck but BRO why her ankles so thick dawg?"

I'm sadly not surprised about Nick Aprils getting more of it than 2k3 April.

Before someone comes in to say "but what about anime girls?", the Nick versions of April actually look like their ages, unlike a lot of teenage anime girls who look like adults. So yeah, it's WAY creepier.
Well luckily, 80's April had made a resurgence thanks to Shredder's Revenge and the overall 80's TMNT stuff we've gotten this year.

Sadly it still leaves 2K3 April pretty much in the dust. I guess she wasn't as bangable as the previous April, but she wasn't there to be easy on the eyes.

Did like your dad have dangerously high testosterone levels when you were conceived and it just passed down to you?

Lord knows I don't want to hear about what young Roxx would do to that Rainbow Brite doll.

I mean she was "hot" but the sexy was definitely dialed back on purpose, Visible Asscrack notwithstanding. Like her boobs probably could've been a bit bigger to justify the belly shirt, and the sagging Khakis made it look like she had a flat ass. Plus the totally-unnatural "red" hair just throws the entire thing off. She was bangable but I get why there's less art of her, the design definitely needed work.

Meanwhile Nick April may as well have been called Captain Butt-Shot and I don't doubt that a lot of the pervs who do art for the internet were maybe the same age as the show's target audience*, roughly, so I mean I kinda get it to a point. But if Nick thought sincerely that making April a teenager would create LESS porn of her rather than Way more they had no f*cking idea how the internet works. Right or Wrong, that's just... "Are you New Here? First Day? C'mon, man."

*I'm guessing that's possibly the case because in scrolling DA I can tell that a lot of the people on there creating content are CLEARLY children/teenagers based on their abilities, comments, and general posting style. So I wanna give some of the Nick April artists the benefit of the doubt even though that's probably not the case. I just wanna have SOME faith in the human race is all.

Now that I recall, I don't think Back To The Sewers April barely, if any, got any art of her either.

It's possible! But maybe not? Like I said, it runs in my family somehow.

Might actually come from the mother's side if anything. Reason being, my sister's kid (my sister had a different Dad) was Just Like Me at that age, 3-5. Peeping on girls in the shower or getting dressed, sneaking glimpses at stuff on TV he wasn't supposed to see like boobs... one time when I was over, his sister had a friend over to stay the night and the kid got caught peeking at the girl getting changed. My sister was like "You don't do that! What's the matter with you?!" And the kid just turned to the girl and shouted, "You're HOT!" with no shame whatsoever. He was 4!

But then the Hotter Drew Barrymore-looking cousin on my Dad's side was a little horndog since birth, too. And that's a girl AND my Dad's side of the family. So... yeah I actually have NO idea.

Some people just "wake up" SUPER young and others super late. There must be a reason why that is, but again... how the hell could anyone even determine it? Maybe in some other country like France they could solicit a study or something, Over Here if you even suggested that they'd lock you up.
------------------

As for the doll, I slept with it, duh. As in NEXT TO, ya creepy weirdo. But I may have also given it hugs and kisses and pretended we were going out... what, you didn't do sh*t like that at that age? I find that a bit suspect, sir. As I'm forever pointing out, 3-year olds are f*cking laughably stupid.

I get why you'd make the joke, though, obviously. At that age I had no actual concept of "sex", I just knew grown-up people had it and therefore I wanted to - in theory - have it as well, I just had no idea what that entailed. So I couldn't have mimed it on a stuffed doll since I had no idea what it looked like. I just had very vague ideas about people lying in bed and "cuddling".

FYI, Rainbow Brite also has a non-removable blue leotard under her dress so even if I had ill-intentions at Age 3 I wasn't getting very far anyway.

I was always pissed off because the rainbow sticker fell off of my Rainbow Brite's dress like, immediately after I got it. That was such ass, on some of the smaller dolls they used like an embroidered patch or something that was permanent, but on the large-sized "deluxe" dolls that were more expensive, they used a cheap sticker instead. Whaaaat the f*ck. Like, you can't even find that doll in mint condition, hardly, because ALL the stickers fell off right away. F*cking nonsense.

I don't have the original one anymore, sadly, but I did pick up one of the smaller ones on eBay a couple years ago for old times' sake. Practically mint, total steal.

lmao ah I thought when you said 'your dad got it' you meant like he understood, not that he actually bought it-bought it.

It was both, he bought it for me AND most likely understood why I liked her (A: miniskirt).

I talk to a lot of guys who weren't allowed to watch She-Ra. Their Dads thought all the women and unicorns and rainbows and stuff would turn 'em gay, not kidding. Forget playing with the toys, they weren't even allowed to watch the show.

I sure was allowed, though. Encouraged, even. I think because my Dad knew I was getting Baby Boners from it and he was super glad I liked girls. He'd be sitting on the couch smoking a joint while I'd be sitting on the floor watching cartoons and playing with my action figures, and now and again when they'd do a butt shot on one of the chicks I'd hear him laugh and be all like "Yeah, now it's a f*ckin' show!"

I'unno about All That but she made me buy the DVD of Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer a while back. I once stayed up all night with an awful ear infection to watch that movie on HBO at like 6am when I was 4, just to be sure I didn't miss it. Sadly, I think I succumbed to the pain about halfway through, but I did my best.

I had a Rainbow Brite pillow case when I was a kid. But never saw the cartoon or the movie and neither do I know anything about it. But I liked that pillow case.

I have a friend that was a bit Rainbow Brite fan. When I met up with her a good while back, she was wearing a Rainbow Brite hoody. She remembers the characters better than I do, though. I couldn't recall their names. I just know I watched the show and liked it back then.

Anywho, my first crush was a boy in my 1st-grade class, if you can call it that. His name was Jay and he was really fun to play with. I just liked hanging around him. lol All innocent, really. I remember we would all talk about Alf. lol

I guess a "real" crush would've been in 4th grade for me. His name was Jarrod. Don't recall what I liked about him, but I did feel shy around him for some inexplicable reason and when we had to give out our Valentine cards to our classmates, I remember being nervous about it. I gave out Chip & Dale Rescue Ranger Valentine's cards, as I was a huge fan of that show. lol

Slightly older, in about 5th or 6th grade (leaning more towards 5th since I think I still hadn't vowed to never wear dresses and skirts ever again yet), I had a crush on my friends' brother Vernon who was in my year and grade. I'd known him since 3rd grade, though. How that happened was weird, though. One day, his sisters were at my house, along with my younger cousins. We were all playing okay, but the youngest sister got pushed or something (can't remember) and that started a whole thing. He was upset because his sister got hurt, so he was threatening to beat me up or what they used to say back then, "bank you". So that meant he was going to get a bunch of kids together to go after me. Of course this scared me, didn't know what to do, and I just ignored it, but it became a bit worse. One day, I think my mother noticed something was off with me, and I told her what was going on. My parents and I walked over to their house to tell his parents what was going on and how he had been threatening me in school. Boy were they upset. They called him downstairs and he tried to deny it, but then they called the youngest sister down. Chelsea, oh man, who practically told on him. lol I think she was in 1st grade at the time.

Chelsea: Yeah, he came to my class and told me the whole plan.

Not sure what the punishment was, but he was screwed. He did apologize and I explained what actually happened and how everything was a misunderstanding. Chelsea confirmed it, and his other sister Palae did too.

After that, we kinda became friends. I mean, we always had the classes together in elementary school (I was the new kid in 3rd grade), but never really played much together outside of school functions or the neighborhood snowball fight during the first snow of the season or coming across him when going over to see his sisters. I started seeing him as cute for some reason, but that was about it.

It got out, though, that I liked him as I'd been tricked into confessing it (6th grade) by writing it down on a piece of paper. I told them not to share that, but she did anyway and rushed to his house to give the paper to him and he ripped the it up. I got over him fast and of course, I denied it...it was my word against hers anyway and I've always been the goody-two-shoes trustworthy one. After that, didn't really have any more crushes, but even by that point, I think I just liked hanging around with him more than anything romantic. I wasn't too interested in the whole dating thing as a whole as a preteen or teen.

As for fangirl crushes that really were pretty innocent, that would've been Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Jason Weaver, Ernie Reyes Jr., John Lequizamo, Ray-J, Johnny Yong Bosch, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio (even though I didn't want to admit it back then lol)...

I don't think I ever had crushes on animated characters, but I do know I did when it came to like characters in novels I read (like Christopher Pike books), but it was still pretty innocent. It was more like, "I wish we could hang together and go to the arcade!"

I would think usually it starts with animated characters, then you start noticing girls in school, who you never paid much attention too before that .

Ah, I just remembered one more "crush", but this was weird because it was a younger boy and for me in general, it was usually guys my age or older. I was 12 and he was 10. Forgot his name, but he was doing swimming lessons with me. For him, I just thought he was really cute, but it was still innocent. It was still more like, "Man, I want to hang out and play together", that type of thing.

Well that's not how it turned out for me. I don't remember having crushes on any cartoon characters when I was a kid. I didn't even like any female characters when I was a kid except maybe the Power Puff Girls, but there was zero romantic attraction there. That was simply the only "girly" cartoon series that was socially acceptable for boys to watch without being called gay.

I had a few crushes on the kids in classes when I was a kid too. Two of them turned out to be jerks. The rest of them disappeared.

One of those a-holes moved on with his life and became a decent football player for my High School, and he graduated within my Class of 2000 group. The other a-hole I knew dropped out of my life after Junior High.

I kinda think I was the only one that wanted to bang April O'Neil back in school, or at least admitted it to close friends. From what I recall, no one had crushes on any girl at school when we were kids. Yeah, they wanted to bang whoever the top women were at the time, Paula Abdul, Christina Applegate, Cindy Crawford, etc, but not their classmates. It was until the girls started getting boobs that then the classmates would start getting crushes and started talking dirty about them.
