I see that this issue pretty much starts off poking holes in the Fred Wolf cartoon. What with it pointing out the absurdity of Shredder wanting a whatever without knowing what it does, the fact that going after Channel 6 all the time is a bad idea and ignoring that Shredder is meant to be a ninja instead of... Whatever the hell the Fred Wolf show thought he was.

Ehh usually the cartoon is very good at exposition regarding what the episode's new doo-dad does. I don't remember them ever stealing random object just because lol.

The rest of the jokes are on point. Later seasons started poking fun at how the turtles always stop them no matter what or how they've kidnapped April so many times. And Krang is the type to throw a 'what kind of ninja even are you?' cheap shot at Shredder.

TCRI? Huh, well I guess that's one thing not really in the Fred Wolf cartoon that made it into this comic. Wonder if Utroms are in charge?

Anyway, I kinda like that Thrum didn't go back to being a villain simply because the ray beam wore off, it was kinda nice to see him realise he could enjoy things outside of violence. I get the feeling that if this was a story in the actual show, there'd be a 66-75% chance it would just be treated like completely temporary thing and he'd return to full on villainy by the end.

Interesting (to me at least) note...the final page that has the Armageddon Game checklist was not checked off like the other comics were. I wonder how long this was waiting to get printed?
