Haulathon 2023

Just curious what the ratio is out there. Honesty is important.

Greater Orlando area - went to three stores over the weekend:

Store 1: Super Target - nothing (usually has NECA stuff way later than most)

Store 2: mini-Target, no collector section

Store 3: Super Target - found everything except the accessory pack and Man Ray. Figures were on an end cap in the doll section.

Counting on the stuff I want being available for less hassle (as an international) later on.

Been to 4 stores, only found Red Ronin and nothing else.

There isn't an option for "went to the store once to get milk and didn't see anything".

Somehow I walked into two Targets trying to make up my mind which figures I wanted to buy *if I saw them* and somehow walked out with Gargoyles: Hudson, Splinter as Van Helsing, and the Ultimate Kessler Werewolf.

I'm in Madison, WI and saw nothing at 4 stores. Well, not nothing, but nothing NEW. They had a fair number of Vernon/Rat King, Wingnut/Screwloose, the Frogs...even a Channel 6 set in one case. No HaulAThon aisle end whatsoever.

I found some of them. I found all the toon stuff except for the superhero Bebop and Rocksteady figures. I didn't see any of the Archie or Mirage stuff except for one box of the Shredder clones.

Anywho, I ended up going home with some stuff, but... I hesitated on getting any of the street gang punks. And ultimately, I decided not to get them. See, if Scrag hadn't been behind a $200 paywall (preventing me from being able to afford him at the time), I would have gone all in with these guys, but... I really don't like the idea of having an incomplete set of them. So I passed. On one hand, I'm sad that I'll never have the whole gang. On the other, at least I saved myself a fair chunk of change, especially with the recent price increase.

Going to try again tomorrow and if nothing then I plan to order the toon series and spider gremlin. I’m fairly certain bbts will have the mirage and Archie sets up for preorder the next few months. Targets the only one with the toon series other than maybe the neca store.

Well, just found out why the stores aren’t participating, the vendor quit coming to them. On line ordering it is.

Interesting! Was it just NECA specifically or something broader?
Wonder how common that kind of situation is for local chapters of big-box chain stores?

This is true. I was told the neca vendor's never show up and employees are supposedly not allowed to touch the neca stuff (mostly true from working at a TRU as the same nonsense happened there). I don't know why NECA treats their **** as some scared product and just let the target employees put it out.

Something probably happened to the person in charge of those accounts, or perhaps they quit, but that's a failure on supervisors/managers for that specific area not to pull in others to cover it, assuming they're aware their employee hasn't been making the visits.

Those stores really aught to contact the vendor or 3rd party company if that's what NECA uses. That is ridiculous though if the stuff is likely there in the back room, but the store employees can't touch it.


Edit: OR those stores are a complete ass about misplacing the shipments and/or blocking access to them in the vendor's designated spots. I'd hope Target would be better than Walmart... but my Walmart is often a mess and loooves to do that to me and its other vendors sometimes.



Don't own any NECA stuff (yet) and only got a second, closer Target a couple years ago and it's not the best at actually having TMNT, so never really paid much attention that Haulathon was an actual "event" sort of thing. I see it's a Friday thing, correct? Is it just through this month?
