Rise of the TMNT Movie Coming To Netflix - Page 14

I'm still thinking Aug/Sept for this. They need to get this out there, let people see it and then forget it about it to clear the air for the 2023 release of the Seth Rogen film (which I also have low hopes for, but crossing my fingers it's a step up from the last couple movies.)

Even the kids who watched this show will probably have no idea this movie exists or when it comes out will have long since moved on. I think people easily forget how quickly kids lose interest in things and shows after they end, I know it happened to me as a kid unless I was a huge fan of something.

Why the staff? They have nothing to do with NetFlix idiotic ways. They want to show it just as much as we want to see it. Complain to the stupid company that for some reason is taking forever to air it even though its already flipping finished! At least show a trailer for it!!!!

No one will tell you anything until Netflix is ready to announce it.

Netflix is weird about release dates. Just today Netflix announced the premiere date for a He-Man show that is less than a month away. I expect something similar for this movie.

Well...maybe this isn’t being released this year.

Netflix just announced the rest of their movie releases through the end of 2021. Rise was not included.

It's probably not coming, ever. They have had a huge, huge window of time to finish it and get it out, and it's still not out.

At this point, someone who worked on the film needs to start speaking up about the status of the film.

I mean the movie is already done. They still sunk costs on the animation, writing, voice acting, etc. Had this movie never made it past the initial pitch than yeah they could cancel it, but this movie is finished. I remember some of the animators on twitter posted saying the movie is "pretty much done" and that was months ago.

As Cubed said the people working on it have commented about it recently so it doesn’t appear it was canceled during production.

Probably just delayed until next year to spread out their animated offerings. Still weird to have this movie but not the actual series available to stream.

I dunno why they don't just put it straight to DVD at this point instead of bothering with any streaming service.

It's almost like they're afraid to put it out because they're anticipating a huge lack of response to it. So they're hedging their bets.

If they'd put it out right after the show ended, and it did poor numbers, they'd be forced to admit that most people either didn't like or didn't care about this iteration of TMNT.

BUT, if they put it out very quietly two years or three years or whatever after the show ended, and it does poor numbers, they then have any number of reasons they can pull out to illustrate how "release conditions were not ideal" and thus they can keep some of the egg off of their collective faces.

That's what it seems like, at this point. They paid for it, so it'll definitely come out eventually. But they'd go as far as they can to avoid having to admit that, bottom line, most people didn't like this take and don't care to see any more of it. So at least now, when it does poorly, they have built-in excuses.

And have to invest in the cost of producing them? They wouldn't even put the rest of the show on disc. Digital-only distribution saves them a bundle.

Why they are sitting on it though...

I dont buy that, clearly the movie must be finished by now..unless they complètely scrapped the original movie and funded a new one so we have technically a new movie that would perhaps not be related to Rise? Wishful thinking and not likely the case but at least something to speculate

This has been in production since 2019, right? Guess there were some scenes they weren't satisfied with. I'm assuming this movie won't be very long.
