He claims that the Turtles all "acted identically" in the comics and gives all the credit for their individual personalities to the '87 cartoon, which is total nonsense. Their unique personalities were already firming up in issue #2 & #3 from 1984 and 1985, and while the cartoon did exaggerate/build on them, that's where the basis came from. And the movie takes a lot of its cues from those early comics, especially their take on Raphael (which he credits to the movie instead).

I generally like the Nostalgia Critic, but I wish he would have done more research here.

Which is interesting because, he did videos where he corrected the mistakes he's done in previous videos.

Yeah, that's one of the things I do like about him - he seems open to that sort of thing and can amend opinions/statements sometimes. Not sure if he ever addressed this one, though?

Though it's funny that he went off on "T.U.R.T.L.E. Power" for getting its facts wrong in the same video he got a few points wrong himself.

That was the thing that always mystified me about the turn the franchise took when Eastman and Laird licensed the cartoon and the parallel comic book published by the same outfit that gave us Archie. The turtles' original origin story? The whole thing hinges on a for-Christ's-sake rape-murder!!!!

This is kinda why I hate not just the mainstream media's outlook on the TMNT, but the Mirage purists' outlook. The TMNT have dozens upon dozens of characters to cosplay as! Sure it's fun to be a Ninja Turtle, but why not be Leatherhead or Rocksteady?

I think people do it cuz the TMNT themselves are the most recognizable and nostalgic. B&R, April, and Shredder would close seconds though.

Is there a place people can post their own fan vids? I have a couple I thought about sharing, but no idea where I should do that.

If you'd like to share any of your videos, you should be able to make your own thread in the fanworks section and just post them in there.

Right?! Lol! Now, I don't typically enjoy rap, but thanks to the video, that song has made it onto my Christmas Jammys playlist. It's now tradition! Decorating the Christmas tree like a boss.
