I don't think so. If there was, it could only be Mirage comic book references since season 1 was set in 1983 and season 4 (the latest) was set in 1986, still before the cartoon would have aired. But I don't think there was.

If anything, season 5 might. If it's set in 1987 or 1988, that's the beginning of Turtlemania.

Even though I've still yet to watch Stranger Things, I might invest in these. They might be worth the purchase.

Well, it's definitely intended to be the Mirage Turtles. Unless it's some weird tomfoolery like it's the early IDW TMNT before they got the rainbow bandannas, traveling back in time.

Lots of Mirage name-dropping. It's kind of a big deal in that this is the first brand new use of the Mirage TMNT in comics (outside of reprints) since the sale.

Huh. So then in this case the figures were just super early before even mention of the related crossover even came to light?? How'd that happen... Guess they make more sense now.

So they went and put them out early to confuse people enough for most to just pass on it...only to make them harder to get once people actually have a crossover to get into it. lol Tricky buggers.

So we got toy crossovers with Stranger Things and Street Fighter and now comics. And later on toys for the Batman/TMNT and Power Rangers/TMNT crossovers.

Does that mean we're getting a Karate Kid/Cobra Kai crossover comic next?

Disney won’t let a crossover with Spider-Man happen. They won’t even let a grieving family engrave Spider-Man onto their 4-year-old’s tombstone without threatening to sue them.

As for Scooby-Doo, it would be hypocritical of the turtles to hang out with a bunch of kids who smoke all kinds of things.

And yet, still no crossover with Daredevil. Although, I'm fairly certain that if that actually DID happen, the universe would implode in on itself and restart.

Pretty sure I read in the last month or so Kevin alluding super vaguely to just such a thing when he did that alternate Daredevil cover.
