"Overboard" remake
I must have seen the original 30 times as a kid. It was always on cable. Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn were hilarious.
Here it is, the remake... now toxic masculinity free and gender swapped:

That was the 80s, bro... now we've "evolved" past that. A responsible macho man raising a bunch of kids while frauding a rich white woman is passe. A white woman with a gang of kids doing the same in 2017? Totally fine.
Damn it, why isn't Plastron taking the hook yet? But seriously, I am totally honest in my love for the original "Overboard." The trailer for this one doesn't look terrible... though the actors aren't compelling choices and I worry it will just be a pasteurized update. The gender swap doesn't bother me as much as the reasons it had to be a thing behind the scenes, I suspect.

I'm with ya man. Overboard is a gem. Watched it all the time growing up and was a constant watch throughout highschool when I had a date over. Fond memories.
"Zippity doo dah, zippity aye! My, oh my, I've got a wonderful slave!" But yeah, I like Anna Faris but this trailer did nothing for me. |

I hope Anna Faris dreams of opening a miniature golf course.
