Watched the Karloff film The Haunted Strangler last night and I thought it was good. I dunno if I'm obsessed or what, but I watched two Karloff films in the last week or so and I'm not really sure if that means anything.

Later, I watched A Chinese Ghost Story and it was great. I liked the pacing and the fact that it reminded of the cheesy kinda chop socky movies.

I watched the movie The Number 23 the other day and thought it was pretty good.

This film is hilarious. From the guys behind www.thelonelyisland.com and some similarities to Napoleon Dynamite (although more accessible and, ultimately, funnier).

It's extremely quotable too.

I watched two movies today. 300 and Caddyshack. I had seen Caddyshack before and it's always good for a laugh. I saw 300 for the first time tonight, and all I have to say is wow.

The original. Not the horrid remake from a few years back.

Watched Meatball Machine yesterday, which was awesome and disturbing at the same time. I thought it mixed Japanese cyberpunk with body horror pretty well.

Later, I watched the horror movie Ravenous and it was pretty good. It was a little hard to follow at times, but other than that, I'm glad I watched it.

10,000 BC. Or as I like to call it "What if Egyptians made pyramids 5000 years before they actually MADE the pyramids and seemingly domesticated the horse 6000 years before it was actually done...and also seemingly domesticated some Mammoths in the process...and used said mammoths to help build the pyramids..."

Other than the weird stuff about the Egyptians...it was a pretty ok film. Not something I'd fork over $7 to see in theatres
Spoiler:
yay for streamed video sites!
tho. It felt more like one of those made for tv telefilms.

Other funny stuff:

1: You knew they were bad guys for the most part cuz they didn't speak any english! *lol*

2: Mamox not Mammoth but mamox....

3: After the mamox hunt I could have sworn I heard the villiagers singing the Macarena song.....

4: Arabian horses...nice...um...a tad early for those aint it??

Disapointments:

D'Leh (the lead) vs the Sabertooth....WTF?
Spoiler:
He befriends it?!

It was a good love story but as I said...seemed more like a made for tv film.

I've also seen:

The Other Boleyn Girl. The book is better. The movie eh not so much. It skips out ALOT from the book. Heck the plots aren't really the same! Watching it I was really confused cuz there were some characters missing....and I kept on staring at the Queen's lip...she had like a cold sore or something....

Transformers: Im trying to catch up on the movies I missed last year. I thought this was actually a pretty good film. I just hope the 2nd one delves more into the background...particularly why Optimus said "I am sorry brother..." to Megatron after Megatron is seemingly destroyed. Uh...they were brothers?

Really big prehistoric elephants also known as Mammoths. The prehistoric folk called them Mamox in the film. And for ice aged creatures they sure did seem to thrive in the heat of the Egyptian desert (which should not have been a desert!!)

I'm pretty sure that was for the sake of the viewing audience, the english that is.

When I said it was bad I was thinking about story, direction. No **** it's not historically accurate, how could any movie called 10,000 B.C. be? It's like you went in thinking it was a documentary, or based off a true story...

and you made a big list of all the things you caught that were inaccurate...that's what's funny.

And the fact an explanation for Optimus calling Megatron brother is even funnier.
I wonder if her head will explode if she sees "Undercover Brother".

Bought and watched "Black Sheep" it's a horror/comedy from New Zealand. Pretty funny, never takes itself to seriously which is good because it's about genetically altered sheep that bite people and turn them into sheep people.

This guy who used to live on the farm went back to visit his brother and he has a phobia towards sheep cause of something that happened to him as a kid so it's really funny to see his interactions. I recommend to anyone who likes horror/comedy movies.

Uh...yeah. Well it's just that in some continuities Optimus actually has a brother (Ultra Magnus). I guess in movie continuity he and megatron could be brothers (they refer to each other as brother in the comic book adaption a couple times). Meh.

We had it screening here. Not too long, but I would have loved to have seen it. Some of the promos of it was just insane...like one of the guys made up so then he was half transformed into a sheep. Creepy, but awesome.

The theater here on campus showed it last semester. I saw it 3 times, I love this movie. I got the poster, too.
