Iron Man: Armor Wars MCU & Comics Breakdown

I'm definitely looking forward to this show. Thought I'd give a solid breakdown on everything "Armor Wars" for anyone interested in the story or for speculators looking for the books that matter. It's a deep dive because the "Armor Wars" branding has been used quite often by Marvel, but the original story is still the best. Wave One Collectibles' Armor Wars Breakdown

I mean... it doesn't work without Tony Stark. It's too little too late.

All of the die-hard fans feel that way, but there is a lot of good will towards Bob Layton in the Advanced Iron circles so it's getting some support. I'm looking forward to it, but..... I have to agree that no matter how they adapt it, the core of the story is purely about Tony Stark. It's just not the same with Rhodey going on a protective-vengeance-quest for those reasons.

Either way, that blogitcle is really about giving people a resource for the original books, which are absolutely worth reading.

Was Ironheart a part of Armor Wars? Because you just know she'll be front and center in this, probably. I'd assume they'd give her a part of whatever Tony's story was in that.

Marvel Studios has shaken up its Armor Wars project, and now what was to have been a series for Disney+ will be redeveloped as a feature film.

The move essentially pushes back the title further down the development slate.

Sources say the studio was committed in getting the story told the right way and in that process realized that a feature was better suited for the project.

Don Cheadle, who is reprising his longtime Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes, AKA War Machine, remains on board to star. Yassir Lester, who was acting as head writer on the series, will remain as its feature scribe.

Hm... that might just mean some RDJ involvement, even if it's flashbacks or something.

He was fine and he's coming back for it. Hard core Iron Man guys were disappointed with Hammer because he was traditionally an old guy in the comics and Rockwell's goof@$$ Hammer negated the whole "age and treachery versus youth and skill" dynamic.

Ah ok, I'd never read many Iron Man comics so I didn't know that was how their relationship was portrayed originally. Seems like they gave that vibe to the dynamic between Tony and Obadiah Stane in the movies

But man, Rockwell is just so entertaining in the role it's hard to be mad at

Yeah, it'd be great to have Rockwell back.

Rourke too, if they can do something interesting with him this time.

I've seen Iron Man 2 maybe 4 times so far, but every time after I watch it I forget what happened to Rourke's character. Dead, no?

I forgot too! I just remember it wasn't good.

Then I saw him in "The Wrestler" and was blown away.

Rumours are that the main villain for Armour Wars (now a movie and not a series) is

Spoiler:
Ultron, voiced again by James Spader

Lame. Another Iron Man narrative chopped up by the MCU.
