Was that the same project Peter Laird was talking up before the sale? Hypothetically using Henson style suits with CGI faces and touch-ups?

I can understand your stance on the first film. But this film was obviously handle differently and in a more structured way to boot.

I'm not a fool I just see the difference from last time and it's obvious that they are much better prepared and have a better game plan then last time.

It not like they jump into this sequel seven month is a long time there are some great movie with a much shorter preproduction. 7 months from what I have seen is more then enough time.

Exactly the 7 month is only from the date of the announcement to the date that filming started. It's pretty obvious that this movie has a much better production then last time. More structure. More cohesive. I think after the mistake of the last one they new they had to do things differently. And that's evident from everything we have seen so far.

there is no way to know that, at all and its not obvious its speculation

unless you personally where on set and behind the scenes every step of the process there is no way to know that its going to be a whole new film with no problems



you can say what you want that its different , but when me and others see same crew, same writers, same team, same everything its not a good sign

you can like the film all you want but know its faults when they are right in front of your face

I believe so, yes, with "Jackie Chan styled humor & stunt work" IIRC (couldn't be anything better than that for TMNT, IMO).

Maybe someday it'll happen. I suppose a script having existing is at least one tiny step closer to the entertainment industry deciding they aren't "just a kids thing."

The Fusco script and the Blue Door, both scrapped (one for a better reason then the other obviously). And then the director made scenes for three different movies, got them edited to a pre-screening for Bay. Bay under a steak dinner told Liebsman the movie was too dark and sucked, so they had to reshoot the whole thing and make yet again scenes for a 4th version of the movie.

Best decisions ever.

You're also forgetting the Marcum/Holloway version of the PD script.

From what I understand, the Fusco script was never in play with PD. It was their intention to trash it the second they signed on. The Fusco script was developed with Mirage pre-Nick buyout, even though it was included in the sale and Paramount considered it. Marcum and Holloway were brought on a month or so after the PD deal was announced in 2010.

An acquaintance of mine has read the Fusco script while it was still in active development and had positive things to say about it. Fusco is a huge martial arts guy, and I was told that he played a lot with animal influences on martial arts in his concept.

I picked up a bunch of movie scripts from Kevin Eastman a while ago and was hoping the Fusco script would be in the box, haha! No luck, unfortunately.

The Blue Door was the only PD TMNT script to ever leak out, and even that was a pretty big deal when it happened.

You do realize they had more than 7 months from announcing the first movie to when they started shooting right? Please stop talking about how "obvious" it is that things are so much better this time around when you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

But they're not having the same issues as last time there are no recasting, there are not nearly as man reshoots, there no fan uproar over casting and story ideas so there no stopping production to rethink what they are doing.

That is obvious. Just that alone make this production leaps and bounds better the last time. They have a plan and are sticking to it. There is nothing close to the drama of the last movie.

All I'm saying is that 7 months is is more then enough time to create a script. And it obvious they aren't having nearly the same issue as last time as they didn't have to bring in a new script writer. They didn't have to recast key characters. They didn't have fans in a uproar over issue. They didn't have a halt in production. They haven't had nearly the amount of reshoots. So what about this movie makes it seem like it's having the same issues?

And it is obvious that this production has at least gone much smoother then last time. And it's obvious they found the tone they want to go for(which they hadn't figured out until just before they released the last movie). So that in it self means they have a more coherent idea of what they want to do with this movie. Which is better then last time cuz they didn't know what kind of movie they wanted to make until right before they released the movie.

Also: saying that something is "obvious" doesn't automatically make it obvious, no matter how much you want to believe. It also doesn't dismiss the valid, plausible points made against it being obvious.

Kinda funny seeing Human Rocksready have facial hair, but Bepop in Mutant form is sporting the IDW-esque mutton chops.

That's what I meant but if they had any recasting it would have been figured out by now. All the issue the first one had were issues known and speculated about before the movie released there is none of that this go round. Just clear cut casting, filming and wrapping. How do you figure that? Knoxville and Shalhoub were announced 4 months before release. Did they even announce the guy that ended up being Shredder? If they did it was just before release.

Why should people listen to you know about there not being any issues? You were adamant that the reshoots for the first movie were only because Fox was pregnant.

The guy playing shredder was announced before released. We are now 5 months from release with absolutely no breaking headline about recasting for any such things.

I'm not saying people have to listen to me. But the info is out there people can see how this movie is being brought together compared to last time. And I was never one to say that reshoots were solely due to Megan's pregnancy. I did on the other had say that reshoots aren't a major issue. Most movies have them. And in reality most of the reshoots were to fix things fans had issue with in the first place. Which this sequel does not have issues with.

And it made the movie a bad MESS of a movie instead of just a bad movie.

Luckily, they apparently have all their ducks in a row this time around so we'll just be getting a bad movie on its own instead of a bad MESS of a movie.

no one was recasted though...voices yes but that is a 1, maybe 2 day job...probably even half when you consider leonardo and splinter barely talk...so nothing was changed in that aspect that still wouldn't have affected the movies quality

also the shredder idea wasn't a recast, all they did was add one scene with mysterious asian dude and then never show him suit up just talk..again maybe 1 or 2 days of shooting

the rest of the stuff was already shot with sacks in the suit, they just ignored it and said it was asain guy

you act like all this ajor stuff happened when it didnt it was a bad movie from the get go
