Just bought it, and it's pretty great. I still like the original game more but I'm glad I bought Reshelled.

Anyone know how it's selling? It's #1 on the Xbox Arcade downloads, but it did just release.

Edit: Playing through it now I have a few comments/minor criticisms.

#1 I'm sure this has been brought up before, but what's up with replacing the roadkill rodneys? I can't remember if the arcade version cut them out, it's been so long.

#2 This really should have been an update of the SNES game. Missing levels, lamer bosses. Maybe they couldn't get the rights to that version of the game, which would be understandable, I just like that game more.

#3 The music is a bit annoying after a while, I kind of appreciate it for being something new though.

#4 The turtles look weird. Their heads look squished from a front view. Shredder has glowing hands and looks more like he's from the anime or hyperstone heist. I like the redesigns of some of the bosses, especially Baxter, and the foot look great. I guess I would have preferred the turtles look more comic book like instead of this semi animated look. The turtles look like a hybrid of the movie turtles and the old cartoon turtles with a little comic thrown in. I guess my ideal video game turtle look is from the SNES Tournament Fighters game.

#5 I love the intro and the cut scenes. It's awesome they kept the title openers in. Big Apple 3 AM!

Overall, being a remake of a game it opens it up to comparing it to the original, and Reshelled doesn't really hold up. I do hope this game sells well and they use these existing models and game mechanics to make a new game with a unique story. For $10 though this game was worth it, to me anyway. Cowabunga!

Edit: Playing through it some more, I've only played as Leo so far and I don't like how he continues to slash when I don't want him to. The controls just aren't very solid all around, and the bosses get really lame cheap shots (I've only played on hardcore so far, it's probably not as bad on the easier difficulties). I didn't mind the new cartoon voice actors at first but now it's starting to sorta piss me off. In the end this remake of the game isn't an improvement on the original on any way really, which is weird.

Remember, the arcade version came first. Thus, the boxing robots were the ones that were cut, and the Roadkill Rodneys were cobbled from the first arcade game.

Yep, I played through the original arcade the other day, no Roadkill Rodneys, there are boxing glove bots instead. I think they are game specific, Jason.

I remember seeing similar robots in an episode of the old toon a while back (forgot which one, to be honest), and recall thinking to myself "Hey, that's the boxing robot from Turtles in Time... wait, nope... close, though!

Anyone else finding the re-shelled music to grow on them overtime.

I quite like the sewer surfin music, and the bury my shell music.

Then no harm done since it wasn't intentional.

The Sewer Surfin music in the remake is the closest sounding remix to the original music, and sounds fine.

The rest however, is horrid and forgettable.

Heck Neon Night Riders music sounds like adult film music.

Yep, now that you think of it, it does.

Neon Night Riders, starring April O'kneels, Michaelhanglo, Spitter (Splinter,) Leognardo... Okay, I'll stop.

Music by Ubisoft Singapore...

Okay, for real I'll stop.

In adult stores everywhere. Okay, I'm done.

I just wish they'd give us a patch with an option to select the music we like best. Some prefer SNES, some arcade, some dare I say, prefer this crud.

Doesn't the Xbox 360 let you play music over games no matter if they have a custom soundtrack or not? Why don't you just use that? I know it's not practical but, hey it's better than nothing.

Downloaded the demo. The moment I heard the Pizza Power soundalike, I basically started condemning it in my head, but decided to give it a complete run through before final judgement. Played through the level. I didn't enjoy it. The original 'toon look was completely overwritten by the modern TMNT style.

There's an episode where Don hooks a dummy with boxing gloves into a washing machine and it sorta looks like them from what I remember. It's a stretch though.
