*Sigh*
Spoiler:
I suppose I'll start a thread for this just because it's so egregious I think it ought to be memorialized: EXCLUSIVE • TMNT Quarter Scale Arcade Cabinet https://officialkonamishop.com/colle...arcade-cabinet Quote:

"299" [plus ninety-nine cents and taxes and $29.99 standard shipping rate] Looks like SO much... fun? Spoiler:
As a toy diorama, I'm sure they are great. Spoiler:

300 for that? I hope they don't sell a single one.

Plus taxes (where applicable) and $29.99 standard shipping rate.
Yeah... a tiny dedicated "console" that plays only ONE game, so if you wanted both arcade titles, you'd have to buy two. It's inexcusable when you remember that the comparable hardware made by competitors do way more at higher quality for a significantly lower retail price. Inflation is a reality but the SNK NeoGeo Mini retailed for 11,500yen in 2018, then Sega's Astro City Mini and Astro City Mini V retailed for $129.99 in 2020 and $159.99 in 2021, respectively. And each one of those things had between 20-40 games with HDMI support. Konami really should have just gone with their own classic arcade mini running all their in-house titles and a few licensed incentives like TMNT. Even then, $299.99 would be expensive, but perhaps more justifiable.

You know... three years ago TinyArcade gave us a comparable-looking "Fully functional working miniature version of the orginal full size arcade" for a retail price of $23.99:
https://www.target.com/p/tiny-arcade...s/-/A-79804432 Yes, it looks, sounds, and plays like trash (plus it only lets you play as Donatello and only in about 3-4 stages). And I think it's probably sold-out from all major retailors, so who knows what it goes for on the aftermarket?

I have the tiny arcade and the tiny pinball. They are nice shelf pieces. I would get the quarter arcade size since I like the iconic art on the machines, but only maybe for $30 each.

https://turtlepedia.fandom.com/wiki/...rdwalk_Arcade) It does adapt the basic gameplay of the Data East unit and I’m shocked they used the Paul Faris backglass art. Not comfortable to hold or play at length, and I am concerned about pixel rot but very impressive for what it is at the price point. Back in the 90s something like that would have been real popular alternative to the lcd electronic handheld market!

Wow! I came across this on Youtube and I was triggered to think about it. I do already own the original games and have the 1UP arcade cabinet. So at $300 I think I'll pass.

That's highway robbery.
Nobody should buy that crap when you can get the Cowabunga Collection for 40 dollars or less. They're neat display pieces but not for 300 bucks each.

I saw one of these at a place called Foxwoods several years ago. It was “The Arcade Game” one. I’m not sure if it’s still there, but it was fun getting to play as Michelangelo on it for me.

Video review!
It DOES look cool, I must admit: But the gameplay still looks miserable, even if you break out your own USB gamepad, there's no option for an alternate HDMI output, so you just play on the small screen. I have a New Wave Toys Space Ace mini-cabinet, and it's a ton of fun but the simplistic QTE gameplay is more suited to a restricted control setup (plus it retailed for half the price of Konami's offering and came with free shipping as a Black Friday Deal). Edit: ‘nother vid with unboxing. I would be a big fan if they sent me a free product sample too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMlKIY1AFqU That packaging seems like it should have way more interior protective padding. New Wave Toys does food work on that end, from what I’ve seen.
