Did I read that article right? Are they re-releasing the Mutatin' Turtles?
My cousin had one of those, and I always thought they were SO cool! I'll DEFINITELY be on the lookout for those! |

Do we know what the Adventure Heroes figures are? The only variant I can recall for Mondo Gecko was his hippie figure.

Outside of seeing a Pizza Launcher Leonardo in a Target earlier this year, I have yet to see any reissued Playmates in any Wal-Marts or Targets near me. Honestly, it may have been the initial 1987 Wave 1 reissues like ... over a year ago now for me at this point?

Here in Canada I picked up the 3 Pizza Tossin’ Turtles from Walmart Canada cause I never had them and they always looked cool. No Donnie sucks but I went on eBay and bought an incomplete one so I have the figure at least to complete the team. The storage shell turtles I bought a set of online as the stores here didn’t have them and a week later they started showing up in my local stores…for considerably cheaper but what can ya do? My originals have no accessories and Leo and Raph don’t even have a shell. My youngest son also has a Mikey floating around his room that is without a shell. I noticed on these rereleases that Mikey’s stance has been changed.
Also the Walmart here has the “giant” turtles, Turtle Van, and the 4 basic turtles. They also got the single pack figures of Shredder and Triceraton and the Leo and Mikey in Trench coats “collector figures”. Too bad I fell for buying the 2 packs for Shredder and Triceraton despite having the turtles figures I already had. My youngest son got the duplicates of Don and Raph. Gamestop was where I saw the storage shell figures after I already bought them online. They also had the pizza Tossin figures and the collector figures, as well as the basic Shredder and a Turtle Van. Toys R Us here has the weakest selection as they only had the basic 4 Turtles. In Canada the figures were imported by a Quebec company called Import Dragons so no more Spin Master as the Canadian distributor which is good cause they were horrible. Something about seeing them with that original style card art really makes me happy. I told my kids that 35 years later they are still the coolest toys in the toy aisle. |

Come to think of it, why is Pizza Tossin Don not part of these re-releases?

On their Instagram page someone in the comments posted that the mould was damaged so they couldn’t reproduce the figure. Not sure how they knew this and not sure if the original sculpt is still with Varner studios or not but playmates probably thought the cost to reproduce the moulds likely wasn’t worth the effort but that is speculation on my part. Playmates seems to consider Donnie to be a peg warmer. Sure my local Walmart has 3 classic Donnies and only 1 Leo and Raph and 0 Mikey’s but that proves nothing
Edit: I was back at my local Walmart today and for the classic TMNT figures they only had the 3 Donnie’s now so maybe he is a peg warmer but he is still a cool figure. Last edited by nellyp; 03-26-2023 at 01:06 PM. |

I found Leatherhead figures at two different Walmart stores this weekend. No sign of Foot Soldier though.

I found a whole case of these 2 days ago at a Walmart. There was Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, Leatherhead and Foot on a single peg. There was only 1 of each.

Still no sign of Foot Soldier in the Seattle Area. The basic assortment's been MIA for months now. They come up as "Inventory Out" in Walmart's system, meaning the warehouse itself is out of stock.

Hope that "making of a ninja" thing is a sticker we can peel off...
My home Walmart finally put out more non-storage-shell figures from the wave and I scored a Foot at last, albeit with a creased corner. That's the one I've never seen until now. Most places I've been lately only had storage shells and nothing else. |

They could have just repainted 88 Raph all black and made a new head and released 88 Leo with a new head, belt and black jacket. Even Mondo needs a new head to make this work. Money would be better spent releasing a 4 pack of foot soldiers and giving us some extra Traag accessories, then repainting it in cartoon colours. |
