Ukraine is not only the only theatre of war in which Kamala is involved. But in both Cheney's and Harris' cases, they are warmongerers for getting America involved in overseas conflicts that benefit a certain foreign power at the expense of the American people.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

I've just seen two polls for Florida and Ohio. Hard to believe that both were swing states Obama won easily, only a little more than ten years ago.

Bernie Sanders publicly said that Kamala Harris only saying that she dropping her far-left agenda at rallies and the press to try to win this election.

50 days after she launched her campaign, Harris put her policies on her official website. Too little, too late.

Polls have been pretty bad for Harris for the last week with high quality pollsters seeing her and Trump in a tie. Usually, debates don‘t shift poll numbers much but this year of course is special in many way. If she doesn‘t do well, it might give Trump a clearer edge.

Don't believe the polls, they literally change every day by a few points in either direction. We have record numbers of new voters signing up and they matter a great deal. Most of the people who answer polls are olds cause they are the only people who actually answer their phones anymore

Make sure you are registered, double check your voter registration using vote.org if you have even a sliver of a doubt. Get your friends, family, co-workers registered.

In my state of California, vote my mail ballots are sent 29 days before the election, so unless you want to spend Nov 5th standing in line to vote you want to make sure you are good to go before then. Every state is of course different.

I love the feeling of getting all my voting done ahead of time, then I can spend election day following the coverage and results without worrying about it. And like I said previously, you can even track your ballot once it is mailed in if you are paranoid about it not being counted or lost, etc.

But I‘m talking about high quality pollsters like Siena, YouGov or Emerson. All have similar numbers with big sample groups.

„Polls are fake“ is a dumb narrative that rightwingers have been pushing for the last 15 years and they see their beliefs confirmed by the 2016 results. But even then, while state polls were off quite a bit, the nationwide polls in the last couple of weeks before the election were spot on.

Democrats need to take these numbers super-seriously. They need to aggressively campaign Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and maybe North Carolina which looks like they have a shot there. Harris needs to present herself focused and make Trump look like the buffoon he is tonight. Also, mobilize as many of these new voters to vote early. If all these things don‘t happen, it will end badly for them.

Not believing the polls IS very smart, because they are all flawed.

I look at polls all freaking day. Because other places I read and participate are always posting them. And they are all over the place.

What if you believe a misleading poll that convinces you not to bother voting for something because you think it's a lost cause. Many people would think this way.

The only thing that matters is actually voting. polls aren't votes.

And Kamala is doing well in the polls btw, depending on which polls you look at. I could post pro Dem or pro Kamala leaning polls in this thread all day long. Doesn't really do much though.

Of course, polls aren‘t votes. They are not supposed to foresee the exact outcome of an election but to give you an accurate impression of what‘s on voter‘s minds right now. The important thing is to learn the right lesson from the numbers. Not voting because you think it‘s a lost cause would be lazy and as close as the numbers are at the moment it would also be quite a weird take-away.

You‘ve been quite enthusiastic about the polls for the last month and now that they are looking increasingly bad for Harris you say we shouldn‘t believe them? That‘s dangerous thinking.

Look at the latest French election where pollsters saw a major right-wing win. But this mobilized enough people to prevent them from winning in the end. That‘s the effect a poll should have.

So typical of Hollywood to release the trailer for this film on the day of the debate to help Kamala Harris.

No notes, props or consulting with teams during breaks? Trump is going to deliver an hour of word salad then...

That rule hurts Kamala way more than it hurts Trump.

Everyone saw what an uncivilised pig he is when he was debating Hillary but most people didn't care about that.

I don't know, man. I love the guy but even I was put off by his interruptions in the debates.

The 2024 Debate with Biden and its muting rules definetly helped Trump by preventing him from interrupting Biden when the latter was at his worst.

But Kamala obviously doesn't have the same issues as Biden so I think this debates gonna be a coin flip.

Policy > politeness. Always. And it's not like she was any ray of sunshine toward Trump in those debates, either.

Something I thought was interesting. Tim Walz is doing his own watch party live streamed for the debate apparently? Don't think I have ever seen anything like this from a VP candidate, lol.

Due to my work schedule I'll be sleeping during the debate so I'll have to watch the highlights later.

His policies were a complete joke though. Think of the main ones he campaigned on in 2016:
  • A giant yet hard to see wall across the entirety the US/Mexican border including private land, mountains, lakes and seas which every engineer said was impossible and he would somehow force Mexico to pay for it.
  • A ban on Muslim people entering the US. Something which is both unconstitutional and morally reprehensible. He also had no plan on how to enforce it and would have exemptions for Muslims from Saudi Arabia and Egypt...y'know the two countries that export the most radical Islamic terrorism which defeats the whole point of having a Muslim ban in the first place.
  • Repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act with something which covers everyone but would totally not be Universal Health Care because that's s..s...socialism.
  • Tax breaks for billionaires...the last people who need tax breaks.

And how many of these did he actually do in office? Only the last one. The rest were completely unworkable and he never had any intention of trying. Trump (and most modern GOP candidates) popularity is not based on policy it's based on personality. It gives them a thrill when he's a bigoted asshole and emboldens them to be the same. What even are his policies now? He's not running on anything other than him being loudmouth asshole.
