Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon

Here's the teaser for the new show.

Edit: I added the official upload from the Nicktoons Youtube channel, that does in fact work internationally. I'm keeping the unofficial one up there anyway because you never know what may happen. Just know that these two have the same footage, one just looks better.

I knew they weren't going to use CG for the cartoon like the movie but it feels low budget all the same. Granted these two seasons of the show are just meant to be a bridge between the first movie and sequel so we won't be seeing Shredder or any major plot developments. Probably some side villains can show up though.

I'll give it a chance. Might turn out to be better than rise of the tmnt was at the start.

I don’t have a desire to watch MM again, as I was completely bored by the third act and walked out of the theater.

That said, I love the look they came up with here, compared to past TMNT cartoons. It might be my favorite the turtles have ever looked in animated form.

I’ll check it out just for the animation and to see if they got the series back on a track I appreciate, but I’m not holding my breath.

Somehow it looks even cheaper than Rise... but i'm still here for it.

Haters, why don't you sit this one out, don't blow a gasket over something you already decided you don't care about.

So, we're going to sit through two seasons of filler episodes?

The official version of the teaser is available here:

some highlights?
Spoiler:

Definitely going for more of that unfinished drawing look they had in the movie. I think this could look nice if the character movement can be a little more dynamic, some of the shots shown here feel so stiff where it almost looks like nothing is moving outside of the character's mouth.

I'm glad they're fighting robots here. Hopefully we don't run into another mutant of the week situation.

Yeah, this actually looks cheaper than Rise, even if the designs are more recognizable.

I'm assuming the lower viewership of Rise on Nickelodeon is why they're avoiding airing this on the channel this time around. Which is fine but less people have Paramount+ so I'm not sure this will do any better there.

You could just ignore the "haters" then just call them out for no reason.

Rise of the TMNT actually had really good animation, this definitely doesn't look like it has the same budget. Which is weird because you'd think they would put more effort into this with another movie coming.

I feel they probably should've stuck with the CG animation and I say this as someone who prefers 2D.

Agree, I kinda wish they'd stuck with the CGI, even if a bit less detailed to save budget. Turning that art style into 2D feels like... animated fanart? Which I guess isn't terrible, but does look less professional imo.

Will save judgement for when we see more. Hope it's at least more serialized and arc focused and much less filler-filled than Rise was. Definitely on the fence with this one.

The version of TMNT that was made in MS Paint. TMMS Painted Turtles.

The video is under "youtube kids" so there might be protections that cause trouble watching on mobile or while embedded.

Here is the direct link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_G4QsXwZFNY

It is the same video for all purposes although a little higher quality

My only redeeming hope for the series was that MAYBE it would have at least had fluid animation.

Rise at least had spectacular animation going for it. This one doesn't even have that. So yeah, definitely hard pass. Can't stand this iteration for another minute.

I still have the same issues on my laptop computer. Video not aviable. When I go to the Paramount Plus channel instead, the video isn't there.

It's region restricted, you need a proxy server from the US.

Nobody's cared about a TMNT series in general for a good long time now.

This thread hasn't exactly 'blown up'

the lower frame rate really worked in 3D but looks a little wonky in 2D giving it a cheaper feel. It's exactly what I expected it to be, not sure what everyone else was expecting. As for content, this clip isn't really a good way to tell, it's just a tease to show off the art and get people pumped.

IF IAM NOT in this it will be failure. And if it is like rise and not serious like 2003 and 2012 it will be also a failure. Even the 1987 series is 1000 times better thsn Rise

I wonder how they'll address all those mutants living in the Turtles lair at the end of the movie. Will they just be mysteriously gone? And Scumbug's "romance" with Splinter. It'll be interesting to see how they carry any of this over.

They'll probably be there in the first episode, followed by a scene either partway through or at the end of them or the turtles moving out to get "space." Or, the episode will just start with that having already happened.
