If you have a full time job then you're working full time. You wouldn't be working part time, even if you work a part time job on the side.

I honestly wonder if I can retire early, like mid-40's at latest. I've been hoarding all my money since I was like 21 for this reason alone.
Imagine if I move to Florida and become a Florida man, buying a condo down there for relatively cheap and living with my savings from NY. Since the cost of living is lower down there, I could be a king living among paupers. |

I work Monday through Fridays and have Saturdays and Sundays off every week, I also get Holidays off and 2 weeks off when the place closes for 2 weeks in the middle of summer.
Tomorrow is the last day of work before the Holiday break, So I don't have to go back to work until Jan 3rd. |

Why am I finding it plausible that you'd make a great Florida Man?
I dunno though, unless someone is legit wealthy and always has some money coming in, I'd personally be worried of burning through too much of it and then not be left with enough by the time a person is too old to be able to support themselves if they needed to. Quote:

Lower than New York, sure, but by no means cheap. Florida is one giant tourist trap, man! You'd be better off in Texas- we don't have state income tax. And most areas are still pretty inexpensive, except DFW, Austin, and the coast.

My experience has been that what makes or breaks those situations is less about the amount of money you have and more about what your vices are and if you can control them. |

I do, for now at least.
In the warehouse, moving boxes all day, all day, moving boxes all day, all day long! After 10 years of working in delivery service, it is a new experience. Though I miss traveling to different parts of the city and seeing new places, new people, stuff like that. |

I work in the government. Much prefer it to working for a private company.
