Scream 5 Is Coming

Back in May, it was confirmed that David Arquette is reprising his role as Sheriff Dewey Riley for Scream 5. Shortly following this, Courteney Cox also joined the cast for the upcoming film. Then, in September, Neve Campbell announced her return after months of speculation.

Campbell was originally hesitant to join Scream 5 following the passing of original Scream director Wes Craven. However, after speaking with Radio Silence who is overseeing the new film, she had a change of heart.

“ After spending time speaking with Radio Silence,” she said. “They have shown such love, respect and admiration for Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the Scream franchise. I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.”

Scream 5 is set to open on Jan. 14, 2022.

So the title is just "Scream." And here are some set photos:

The "V" in the middle of the "M" in "SCREAM" on the posters of all the movies has always been sharp like that... why not just color that "V" in red, or something? Maybe they will.

they won't because the trend of having the sequel have the same name as the first movie is a thing now. super annoying.

"It's Always Someone You Know."

Could be a clue that they're going to do what they should have done in Scream 4, and make one of the core cast into the killer this time.

Final trailer:

Also, apparently it is predicting a franchise record-breaking weekend take of $35-40 million. Maybe it's just the right time for it and it'll do what Scream 4 didn't.

Just saw it. Pretty awesome. Very cleverly written, better than 4 and bolder. Very much a nice new chapter with some equally as relevant (to the time) geeky cinemaphile monologues as the first one.

I'm not entirely convinced you can predict the killers if you follow the clues (this bugged me about 2 and 3), but there's a few things there. Also, clearly everyone involved behind the scenes really loved Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."
