Slash in Rise?
hello everyone,
long time lurker and first time poster. has you can probably already see, I am a huge slash fan. he has been my favourite turtle all my life. I ask you this question: do you think we will see slash in rise? I have hoped since the show was announced but unfortunately he hasn't happened... yet. have there been any rumours or rumblings of slash appearing in the series? thank you and I hope everyone has a great day. First off, there is basically no chance of Slash popping up, all that is left of Rise is that movie coming to Netflix and I don't think he's much of a priority. The main lingering mystery is the late introduction of the Utroms, which makes me think that is going to be the primary focus of the movie. Once the movie is out, it is very unlikely a revival of Rise will ever even be considered, most likely we'll just get another complete reboot.
Secondly, I noticed something about characters returning from previous iterations. There were very few and the ones we got were:
All but one of these were Mirage characters and that one was so heavily reimagined it might as well just be an easter egg. My guess is that Fred Wolf / Archie characters, like Slash, were never meant to be a part of the show. |

Hard to even guess how soon Nick will try a new series, esp with Rise kind of bombing the way it did. Slash is probably guaranteed to show up again someday though.
Though given how the Rise people really liked to try to go overboard with changing things, it might be for the best they didn't tamper with Slash, because god knows what they'd have done with him, so more than likely he dodged a bullet. |

Which version of Slash is your favorite, and what do you like about him?

You mean as in "We are getting a new cartoon next year or the year after that" or do mean "Sometime after next year". Of course we'll get one eventually, just not willing to make any bets on when.

Yes... But that was obviously a joke. It looked for sure that Draxum was going to create Bebop and Rocksteady, only for him to just grab a piece of the Dark Armor. It was a total comedic fake-out, it's not worth counting.

I think this guy would've become Slash. Turtle shell shoulder pads, an obvious frontal plastron, three fingers, turquoise skin, etc.

"I don't remember who that was. I think that was a character we were nurturing in the background in case we wanted to do a crazy reveal that so-and-so was actually so-and-so this entire time!"
This is gonna sound mean no matter what, but I can't help it. When people accuse the show of being written under a "just fling whatever at the wall" approach, without any care, planning, or foresight involved, literally just making things up as they go along and doing whatever felt right "for the yuks" at any given moment... and then someone says "Yeah, we kinda did do it like that"... ......People kinda shouldn't ever in turn get mad at other people for merely pointing out the obvious about how there was no "grand plan" in place for the entire project. They're simply pointing out what they see in front of them. Hopefully the next TMNT project actually takes the time to develop a plot and characters before they "open the lens" on it. Time definitely won't be kind to this one if they're more or less just admitting they were making it up as they went along. That's not how you do these things. Makes one wonder if "Casey" and certain other reveals were done for any other reason besides, "Eh, last episode, let's f*ck with people." They probably didn't honestly plan THAT, either; they just decided at the last minute that it'd be funny. ((Shrug))
