ufc probably
Bellator has been in talks with venues in NY already. Barcleys center namely. Scott Coker said he looks forward to going there in the Fall. It takes about 120 days to get a promoters license and get everything set up to put on an event in NY so we'll see.
I hate all these people freaking out about Bellator going there though. The sport of MMA is legalized and they think only the UFC can go to NY. It's so stupid. I'm glad it's finally legalized. I really thought it never would be. Theres lots of New York based fighters in both promptions. For Bellator 2 of their current champions. Undefeated Liam McGeary (LHW Champ, First/Only British MMA champion of a major organization) and Marcos Galvao(BW champ) theres others but those are the big 2 For ufc there is Chris Weidman, who lobbied hard for mma in NY. His teammate Sterling, lots of guys. And there's some free agent "legends" and pioneers and veterans of the sport that would be big sells and would love to fight in NY. Like 'The NYBA' Phil Baroni, and Matt Serra. |
