How do you feel about the Ninja Turtles reddit?
https://www.reddit.com/r/TMNT/
Since this forum is on life support it's obvious most TMNT discussion has migrated to reddit and to a lesser extent twitter and tumblr. Since I feel the compulsive need to spread my influence throughout the internet, I've been lurking there. Most discussion is about the toys or fanart, but there's occasional threads about the cartoons and comics. |

I...don't like it much. It tends to feel like an echo chamber with a bias towards the 80s cartoon and Rise of TMNT, with some IDW comics thrown it. I don't mind discussions on those, however, dissenting opinions get downvoted and ridiculed. Not a very good forum for legit discussion.

Anyone who uses Reddit in general should be dipped in egg batter and fed to the fire ants.

Basically this. Reddit is the type of place where degenerates like Plastroncafe will hangout, especially when they can't handle the difference of opinion here.

It's mostly casuals but there is more TMNT discussion there than here. Discussion here is pretty much dead besides the political circle jerks and I doubt the forum will ever recover.

Meh, I lurk it some, occasionally comment, but much of it is dull and what there is occasionally of interest is nothing you can't find here. Mostly I'm surprised how clueless some people on it are at times.
I'll still always prefer a forum and actual conversation. |

I have no use for it. Bunch of memes you've seen 100 times already, people sharing their boring buys, vitriol for any content that isn't nostalgia-driven, false trivia. Boooo.

Yeah, reddit and twitter are basically the modern fandoms these days. As well as tumblr for images/fanarts.
This is an old archaic forum from 1999 that only 30+ year olds visit. I need to hang out with new cool young kids of today. |

If you'd feel more comfortable as the King of Sh*t Mountain and lead the rest of the idiots who chatterbox on Reddit and Facebook, by all means be our guest. No one is stopping you.

No one tell him he's too old to be with the "new cool young kids." lol
But those are the kids who look less cool and more like clueless children the older you get. edit: Can't really say I have any interest in interacting with most from that age group of fans. Those who actually have interest in being here and having actual conversations are fine, but far too many out there in a generation whose fandom seems to be less about the thing they are supposedly a fan off and more about how they can get attention for it. Too many times I've seen postings somewhere online where some kid is mad that their art -- often just an OC -- is not getting enough attention or even threatening to leave the fandom over it, as if a fandom is somehow a special club or ever needed them in it. Good grief. Kids these days. Last edited by IndigoErth; 04-27-2021 at 08:03 PM. |

We're definitely living in the Narcissist Generation. The Internet and social media are almost entirely to blame for that.

I'm not going to be left behind in the digital age with a dying forum. It's like when our parents were clinging to record players, cassette tapes and VHS while we were embracing CD's, DVD's, and HD TV.
My grandparents didn't even know what a computer was and they never owned a cell phone. Well guess what happened, my parents embraced the future and our generation grew up with it. "Back in my day" can only go so far. 10+ years from now most forums will be dead. And the new younger members of the fandom don't come here anymore. |

When online communication dumbs down to the point that people are only posting five word comments (that no one actually reads) because it's the "new modern thing" to be embraced, guess what... fandom will be pretty much dead, too. You sure you want to go that way?
Hard to sustain a fandom if the "fans" have little care to discuss anything and mostly stare at 5 second cat videos while waiting to get their next "like" just for posting "I lk trtls." A lot of the younger ones probably found other interests and wandered off. Esp being in a bit of a dry spell. No one is born to be a diehard fan of everything they ever liked at one time. The kids who remain interested or come back to it and want to know (and discuss) more later may well show up at a later point. |

I thought twitter was crap for awhile then I started browsing it and saw how people had the same discussion as forums. I block all political stuff on twitter so I only browse it for fandom stuff. |

Reddit is **** and clucky to use.
Most of its subreddits are echo chambers, which fly under watchful eyes of SJWs. Not a place, where I want to be. |

I only browse Reddit to waste some time, but I never visit the TMNT forum.
