I have this. It is a nice print and a good piece of art, but it is not from any Mirage artist. It's something that was done for a con by some random guy. Good homage to Farley's style (why I like it), but that's all.

Yep, its a print sold at a Florida con back in '94. Years ago I bought 2 of them, #168 & 169. Still have them actually. They've always sold in the $10 - $15 range. Don't think anybody's every figured out who that signature is though. I always thought there were kinda cool.

Yeah, the print is cool. But what is not cool, is to claim it is a print from some well known artist, when indeed it's not. The seller still claimed it was somehow Lawson related. After I've told him, that Jim himself told me it's not his artwork, he suddenly claimed that it is signed by Jim.
Eff this, I got my money back. So it's all good. Thanks for all the help, guys!

I should have some goodies coming soon. And along those lines, in case any of you fellow artoholics don't venture into the Buying and Selling, you might want to check it out if you're interested in some Original Toon Painted VHS Covers. Not an opportunity that comes along often thats for sure. |

I had this for a bit, but forgot to post. Good ole Neil Vokes, NJ resident like me. I definitely appreciate the "Mirage Publishing" watermark on the comic board, the bottom of the board has the mailing address. It looks so professional...

Jim Lawson commish that was SS slabbed. I asked for a Shredder/Foot Elite Guard. I'm not really sure if there is a defined difference b/w a "Shredder" or "Foot" Elite Guard... Anyhoo, I guess Jim was feeling a little bit Farley when he did this.

Still trying to ID this... or get ANY info:
I would like to know what this is from. It is clear/see-threw and kind of like a photo negative/animation cell but with no hand done art, just printed. Size- a little bigger than a normal piece of printer paper. I can not even read who did the art in the bottom left corner. Who did the art, what was it used for, what is it and any other info would be appreciated! Last edited by spp; 01-26-2014 at 03:51 PM. |

It reminds me of the art style used for the SNES TMNT Tournament Fighters. Just a thought

This is still in transit but Dooney very kindly sent me the scan.
I asked him for Leo in the unused TMNT 4 design and since it's my first commission I decided to make it extra special and asked if he could do it in colour. The result blew me away. I can't wait for this to get here! |
