Glad to see Mondo Gecko finally get some spotlight and a team up with Michelangelo, which as far as I remember, hasn't happened in the IDW unvierse yet.

Also Mutagen Man is still a head after like...2 years. At least he's not frozen in the back of the lair forever like Nick Mutagen Man was.

Mutagen Man feels like the one time IDW wrote themselves into a corner. He should've self-destructed back in the Mutanimals mini, it would have made him much more memorable and tragic than just sticking around doing nothing (so far).

So as the series draws to a close, have they had an issue without the turtles and just the supporting cast?

I count Karai's Path.

Makes sense that Seymour is the friend they'd end up having to save.

Do you mean issues the TMNT didn't appear at all? The Karai 4-parter, the Toad Baron 2-parter only had Alopex/Angel, the Dreadmon issue only had Ray/Sally, etc.

Cool. Ok. I missed some of the run, but I was curious if it ever did truly live to the Universe name. Glad it did.

Seymour still needs to die.

And I am NOT digging this art.

This is giving me Archie TMNT vibes, in the sense that one could easily use Mutagen Man as a pro-euthanasia argument.

Being pro myself, I appreciate the subtle approach to the matter and hope he gets his wish in the end. There's nowhere else for the character to go.

Agreed. Let's go for poignant and an interesting moral debate for adults, not easy Saturday morning "save the day, save the victim!"

Quite literally.

Just throw him into a meat grinder, it's the humane thing to do.

Well...that was something.

Spoiler:
It was basically just Michelangelo watching Mondo collapse into a massive adolescent tantrum and getting freaked out by it.

Hob got weirdly beefy and for some reason, wasn't wearing his eyepatch. But I liked the expected "you're not my dad!"-type argument. I especially like that Mondo is more afraid of Seymour's threat to hate him if he comes out of his coma than being upset that he's dying.

It seems like Lindsey is the only one who seems to respect that Seymour wants to die. Maybe even Hob to some extent.

Looking into it now, if there's anyone besides Ch'rell that would go charging headlong into a fight with Leatherhead, I never would have thought that, with the attitude Mondo is putting on, he'd get into one too.

That being said, it is awesome seeing Mike being the voice of reason in this way. Seeing him meditating is cool, and he even has the sense to not consider pineapple a pizza topping!

The mini story was actually a lot of fun for once.
Especially with Angel pretty much being the only one so far who could absolutely kick Zodi's butt; it's about time someone could.

But more alarming than that, Null wants Triceratons for something. That is some HUGE information for the very end of the mini story.

Wow. This issue is... this is much more bizarre than I was expecting.

All the radicalized Mondo dialogue, "fascist pigs", et al... way too freaking over the top. And this is hideous art, just fugly. That is the fugliest Mondo Gecko I've ever seen.

I like Dad Hob, though.

Also curious to see what's going on with Null... and I'm confused, is Null working with Bishop? That makes no sense...

The anarchy tattoo on Mondo's shoulder is even more OTT.

They're not working together. Zodi broke into an EPF vehicle transporting dead Triceratons.
