Lol, I didn't read it in a sexual or inappropriate way at all. Pretty sure that's in the eye of the beholder.

Whether it looked inappropriate or not, there's also this other issue imo... it probably isn't a great idea to give kids the impression that licking weapons looks in any way cool...? Yes, sai aren't sharp edged weapons, but this franchise tends to pretend they are 95% of the time and most kids probably think they are.

Kids didn’t even get the joke when they first saw the 1990 movie; only their parents did. Casey is an Alpha Male type, like my late Dad, so of course he’ll freak out if someone presumes that he’s into guys instead of gals. Also Donny clearly said “claustrophobic” but Casey misinterpreted that term as something entirely different, so he’s not only macho but also dimwitted. That’s the whole joke: it pokes fun at his character, not gays.

Plus I get the impression that you’re the type who looks for anything that’s homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, fatphobic, etc in a classic movie, so you calling me a pearl-clutcher is ironic in itself.
