This sure is shaping up to be interesting, even if I am mildly annoyed at the fact that we can't all be hyped up for the Joker movie.

I mean, it kinda makes sense. Especially with this current mentality where everyone is expected some sort of 'gamers will rise' type reaction.

You know the stupid thing is if people really are worried about some sort of uprising, maybe just.... Don't show the movie? Trash it and make a less contraversial one?

This would be the exact opposite of what I prefer.

Can you imagine if we began a precedent of trashing, and essentially censoring, any film that got people riled up. Who would make that call? The government? No thank you. The fans? It would be beyond politics and turn into fanboy wars. In a small way, it already has.

The thing about this movie is that I truly feel people are willing danger into existence. At this point, with the accusations and proclamations flying around, if anything, we are going to convince incels that “Yup, this is the big one. Get your guns and gas masks loaded! Here it comes!!” More than any film ever could. it's starting to feel like a goddamn invitation.

It’s a movie featuring a bad person. We had nothing to be afraid of.

Right. Anyone who follows his work can see that he doesn't like to commit, generally speaking.

At the same time, he really sounds like he had a great time making this film, in all the press he is doing.
