Maybe so, Stephen, but it's all about the budgeting for me. I don't confess to being either a complete-ist or a cover variant enthusiast. Between Ghostbusters, Mega Man, Infestation specials, and other TMNT related titles, the money leaves me wallet pretty quick. $4 saved is pretty much another whole comic earned.

The Hero Comic's Eastman feature did have me curious, but I wasn't sure if a few pages of TMNT content justified the purchase of a whole issue full of stuff I don't care about.

Anyhoo... we'll just have to wait and see if I end up dropping the cash.

EDIT: This just in from comiclist.com

"Originally solicited with two covers shipping 50/50, Hero Comics 2012 will now ship with one cover by J. Scott Campbell. The Joe Jusko cover has been cancelled."

Looks like if you want this, you're gonna have to walk up to the cashier like a little perv with your big booty Red Riding Hood cover and like it. I might just throw it in with my next order from Midtown or mycomicshop.

The place I get my TMNT issues from won't be ordering this in, as apparently they got some issues of last year's release and sold none of them! So I'll be on the lookout for other UK suppliers...

What's new. Every one has to do that when they want to buy the new issue of Grimm Fairy Tales. In fact there's a whole lot of T+A on covers now a days. I still got my fingers crossed for a IDW TMNT variant of April in some daisy dukes.

I asked 2 shops to order it, my local one did not, so hopefully my variant store got it for me.

My shop didn't have it, apparently.

I made sure to ask that they put it on my box for me, so hopefully I'll get it next week.

Ah, interesting. Hopefully that means they decided to ship it with a B cover after all.

Hero Comics 2012

Not seeing this in any other topic... feel free to merge if it's already been discussed.

Tomorrow, a tome known as Hero Comics 2012 releases. I initially glanced over it in my comic list, but my brother pointed this out:

http://heroinitiative.org/newsdetail...+by+Russ+Heath

• A NEW Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles story written and drawn by Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman!

Interesting....

Why does the search function fail so hard for me on this board and this board alone?

Because, Hero is a 4 letter word...and sadly can't be searched. Is there a way to fix that?

I'd just recommend careful tagging of especially relevant threads. "Comic discussion" or "idw" would probably make navigating all the recent comic threads fairly easy... just so long as people don't go crazy over non-consequential discussion threads.

Here's my review of Hero Comics 2012 #1 at TMNT Entity.

Not a whole lot to review, honestly, but it was just a thrill seeing Eastman pencil a TMNT story after all these years. It almost makes me want to blow the cash on that hardcover collection of his IDW layouts.

Quick! Is the continuity IDW or Mirage? Does it even matter!? Arrrgh.

No seriously, though. Nothing in the issue has any baring on anything so it could feasibly be in any universe.

Curnow said as much in the Q&A thread at the IDW forums, yeah. He said it places best just after IDW #6, but was pretty noncommital about its canonicity. Folks can do whatever they want with it!
