Youtube Gaming Issue
Any time I go to any of these new pages to follow the respective channels it just immediately redirects to https://gaming.youtube.com/error. I'm signed in.
When I'm not signed in, I can visit the page just fine, but I can't follow it if I'm not using my account. What's the deal? I tried it with my extensions turned off too, didn't help.

I wish I could help you, but that is an awful 404 page.

Yeah, you said it. Bad enough I've run into an issue, but I'm made to cringe, too.

I just did some browsing around in multiple browsers, and I just think they're kind of still working out the kinks because I'm getting weird problems, too. People here seem to be having the same issues.
(Also, they think the page is funny uuuuugh) |

Well at least I know it's not me. Maybe it'll resolve itself within the week. Thanks, when I Googled it, I was met with nothing but Reddit links to how hilarious & clever that screen is... Ugh is right.

I still can't get over the fact that average/regular people are literally making millions just playing videogames and uploading it to youtube. I wish I had thought of this years ago, but its probably too late to bother now.
When they announced Pewdewpie was making $4 million a year just from uploading mostly videogame videos with his commentary...its staggering. Its mind blowing really because anyone can do that. Its something a lot of us are kicking ourselves for not thinking about doing the same thing back around 2008-2010 when this subscribed channel stuff was getting big. |

So no, nothing guarantees that you'd be making millions if you happened to try to hop on the bandwagon. |

I dont think Youtube Gaming won't catch on to Twitch, the reason is cause Youtube Gaming will have the Content ID system in place, If you stream a game that has copyrighted music, Your stream would get knocked offline and possible get flagged.

I remember magazines and writers of gaming websites often mentioned during the merger with TechTV that G4 failed because gamers were just not interested in watching a channel about games that they preferred playing games. All those "experts" couldn't have been more wrong.

No, they were right to a point. Watching other people play video games (without the usual obscene commentary found in most online videos) is like listening to them describe their dreams: completely boring and nobody on the spectator side cares because it has nothing to do with them. It's been pretty well proven by this point that you can't have a traditional advertiser-driven "network" or TV channel based around video games and gaming content. G4's spectacular flame-out drove that point home.
The entire idea plays much better on the web because content can be absorbed and digested in smaller chunks. Someone who'd watch Pewdie Pie or whoever for 5-10 minutes and bust a gut laughing may not be AS entertained watching a whole 30-60 minutes of the same thing, most likely. Plus, a lot of what makes web videos and online content more fun and palatable to the gaming audience is stuff that would be censored to hell on regular TV. So there's an audience for the content, clearly, but there's really no way at all to make a "traditional" TV channel or TV show based around games "work". The audience they're trying to reach doesn't absorb content that way anymore. Now, online "channels" and whatnot, that's clearly a different story, as people using those avenues are apparently quite successful with it.

I honestly enjoyed watching other people play when I was a little kid, though. Every kid who'd bring his Game Boy to school would be bound to have a couple of other kids looking over his shoulder watching him play Pokémon or Super Mario. |

I've looked into doing this for years. I currently stream on Twitch all the ****ing time but I don't get much out of it follower-wise -- I just do it for fun. And that's how all of them start. I'll let you know if/when anything ever comes out of it but I doubt it :V

It actually came up as an option on my phone when I typed in the full thing, and I thought "oh this must be what it means", ha ha.
