A couple things that add to the success of a run are Frequent updates, and Progress photos.
So, here are some. A couple tubes cut to length. |

If I had the money, I'd be buying one. So far it looks like he has people working on this project that know what they're doing.

I have me working on this project.
Thanks for the compliment thou! Yeah, the majority of this run is happening on the Replica Prop Forum, where pre-order runs are common and unusually happen without incident. |

Exactly, I mean, Not hating but Like Archon said, unless they are actual movie props, not alot of people will pay. Not a high price anyway. Anything over $50 really is overkill. Just out of curiosity, how much do these cost to make? Labor? But on top of that, gotta see a fully finished one first before any talk of a purchase.

I wish I had the money to splurge on one; I think these will be really cool. I have a lot of confidence in this guy's work.

People who actually understand what it takes to make something like this (custom machined metal) know that this is an awesome price. Someone who does a lot of customed machined parts said it best on the replica prop forum: Quote:
And if you read the first post on this thread, you'll see that this is a pre-order run of parts. There is no way Im going to get just 1 made, just so I can show you what its going to look like. Its going to look EXACTLY like the ones in the movie. And besides the cost to make that 1 to show would have been $250+ and that cost would have had to be spilt into the total cost of each canister, thereby raising the end cost even more! |

Well, like I said, NOT HATING, just saying. I dont know if anyone here knows or cares how much metal costs right now. I dont know how many of us are actually buying metal. lmao. I see you have lots of buyers. Great, good luck to you and them. I wouldnt even think of spending $140+ on something I havent seen first. But maybe thats just me. However, usually there is atleast 1 finshed product just to see exactly what you would be getting. And for $250 you could almost get an actual prop from the movie,if that. Just my opinion, not trying to fight or anything. Heck I think its great that someone is taking the time to even do this kind of thing.

Yes I did read the thread and I understand they have real metal ends. Your point? Why would anyone who wants one of these care how much metal costs? I dont get it.
And there have been a few Ebay listings over the years, like Archon said. Those even had trouble selling. |

cklinejr, don't take it too hard. Turtles fandom is odd. One of the many examples of that is they're relativelly low interest in reproduction props compared to similar groups (TF fandom, Who fandom, and Ghostbusters fandom.)

It all depends on how authentic the finished product is. I think you could sell it on Ebay, maybe not so much here...
