Currently working on Love Is Shell, my TMNT on-going romance. It's all in first-person POV from the two main characters- my OC and Mikey, who has his chapters in the form of journal entries. Almost finished with his latest chapter, which tells about what happened after making a deal with Krang to make him human for a day, and fills in a few of the gaps of what went on before they met up that day. It also shows his thoughts and feelings on what they did on their "date" during his day as a human, and- well, he's just really fun to write!

I also started a T-cest story (my first, and probably only one) and I have a plot bunny hopping around for a Quantum Leap crossover story which promises to be interesting. Sam will DEFINITELY have a hard time dealing with THIS leap! (And I imagine Donnie would have a field day with Sam's experiments.)

I've been working on a Sonic fanfiction called "The New Mob" for over 4 years (it's also due to having to reboot the fic due to a copyright incident). It primarily focuses on fancharacters and the Destructix due to me putting up a post requesting fan characters, and the large number I got with interesting personalities and descriptions.

I'm also working on an independent project called "Neo Earth."

Senpai, for just discovering this thread, I love the concept.

Outside the Ninja Turtles, I do have three ideas planned, but two of them I have ready to work on sometime down the line. (the first one I still have nostalgia for so I keep coming back to it)

The two I have in mind are:

Redemption of the Fallen and Dare to Dream?

Primarily hoping to become a writer or filmmaker after graduating in the future. I'd be interested to see what everyone can come up with. Can't wait to see what comes to be.

I started writing original fiction in high school but never really had concrete ideas. I started writing fan fiction when The Powerpuff Girls were still airing and I created my own episodes because I was tired of Cartoon Network showing the same episodes over and over again. Then I joined FF.Net in 2004 and started writing TMNT fan fiction, and I've never looked back.

One my biggest series I'm working on is my Truth and Lies series which is based off of the book series Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard and takes the TMNT through the ordeal the girls had with A. It's so much fun to write, but I've hit a wall for now, and I hope I can finish it soon so I can start on my third story for it.

Wrote a completely kick-ass couple of chapters in my current novel "Rage" after a couple of months of staring blankly at the screen.

Also, updated my signature. Asylum is out for purchase, so now I've got my entire current coverart gallery in my signature. Proud papa moment.

I think there are a few vague ideas for my story whispering around in the back of my mind, but I either haven't had time to work on them, or I've been too afraid to for fear that they won't turn out as good on paper are I see them in my head.

Just write it, Caliper. No one's gotta read it besides you. Just about everything I first write sucks. That's why the revision process is so important. By the way, I still plan on reading your document you sent me

Caliper, I started writing in earnest around 2004 or 2005... looking back, it was all crap until 2009.

Don't be discouraged; enjoy what you write as you write it; and realize that it takes a lot of practice to get good at something and develop your skills. And how do you practice? You write write write write write.

Here's a question- has anyone ever written something that they spent a lot of time and effort on, and it turned out really great, but you realize that it was SUCH a hassle that you never want to write anything like it again? My latest Gargoyles/TMNT chapter has a fight scene that involves 19 characters from both series, (plus a "lurker" off-scene who isn't directly involved, but will show up to throw more chaos into the mix) all in a three-way battle inside a museum. It was such a HUGE scene, and so complicated that I just- never want to do that again. Big battles in small, cramped spaces with lots of breakable elements are a PAIN!!

I admit, I suck at fight scenes and try to avoid them when possible because things never come out the way I want them to. But if I have to write one, I'll just write what comes into my head and leave it at that.

I, too, really struggle with the actual action bits sometimes. I'm a master of dialogue by comparison (or at least I like to think so) but keeping all of the action sequences in my head and making them believable is harder...

But at least I get to have epic moments like where I tell my wife to throw a punch at me, and then forget to duck because I'm trying to figure out how to write down what I'm physically doing.

Her laughing apologies and a kick-ass written fight scene more than made up for it. We writers will make any sacrifice for our art.

But man, I gotta quit teaching people how to throw a punch... they always end up better fighters than me.

Yes, very true about writers sacrificing anything to get their work done.

Okay, new question:

So I started binge-watching Quantum Leap last night and today, trying to get a feel for the show and the characters (mainly Sam and Al) for my new crossover TMNT fic. Problem is, I don't have a title, and I'm stuck on the actual purpose for Sam's "leap". I have wracked my brain, but I'm still coming up mostly blank on those two things. Anyone got any suggestions?

FWIW, I plan on having him end up in Donnie's body. (This is 90's movie-verse, BTW, set shortly after TMNT III.) Most of the story will center around Sam trying to wrap his head around exactly WHAT he's gotten himself into this time, while the others are all wondering what happened to their brother (they pick up that he's an "imposter" pretty quickly) and I was going to incorporate the Time Scepter somehow. I know it was broken at the end of the movie, but I figure Donnie might have been studying it and/or tinkering with it to either determine more on how it works, or to fix it.

My first instinct was to have Sam trying to stop some disaster from happening, like one of them getting killed, or them getting outted- something along those lines. But I'm stuck on exactly WHAT the issue is. So here I am looking for ideas....
