Krang always wanted it though Shredder just took his sweet time harassing Splinter and the turtles with it instead of getting it back to him. Its already a major part of Krang's repertoire so it's not gonna change anytime soon.

Next step is to finish up his special character intros and get somebody to code an AI for me. Hopefully he'll be complete soon.

The colors are so I can implement a feature called color separation. By making all of those components of Shredder's costume uniquely indexed colors, I can have a large variety of different palette options in the final character, such as these:

That's an AWESOME job! I always wanted to play as the bosses in TMNT Turtles in Time.

I have a few suggestions:

Krang's defeated line against the turtles should be: "Curse the day I ever met those miserable turtles!" From turtle trek!

One of his taunts should be "It's your funeral!" from Turtles at the earth's core.
Another one could be "Morons! I'm surrounded by morons!" not quite sure from what episode this is...

I'll think about more later.

What about TMNT original toon (for Shredder)?
I always wondered why he never had his original cartoon colors in the games...

Also with the Krang voice clips, my computer won't let me save the DVD format onto my computer than into audio format. It used to do it, but after the crash and rebuilt it stopped.

That's quite alright about Krang. He's complete for the most part, I'm just coding his AI at the moment... I guess I should really change the topic title.

I'm definitely looking for some suggestions /contributions for The Shredder though. This place is full of TMNT experts. If you have any info on which episodes have some particularly great Shredder quotes all I need are the titles and I can try to rip them myself. Also if you guys have some ideas for special or super moves feel free to post them. I've already got tentative plans to include an appearance of his Super Shredder form. Any other suggestions/ reference material from the mirage comics, or if you guys can write some original victory text that I can use for his win quotes, I'd be more than glad to have it.

as for super movies the mutate plasma ball that causes the turtles to un-mutate, use it to shrink the opponent like Anakaris (Darkstalkers) does to make his enemies smaller or change form.
Another Bebop and Rocksteady comes attacking across the screen

intro maybe slashing his sword and walking out of a portal or like in the cartoon intro

the fast punch i seen on tournament fighters NES form

common quotes "Tonight I dine on turtle soup"

These being the most obvious places most people's minds go when talking shop about Shredder, I've actually followed up on all of these directions already (the "fast punch" is even featured in the video already ). I was looking for something more obscure that diehards would recommend.

The episode "Turtles on Trial" is a very good basis for Shredder (and his interaction with Krang) quotes. Season 2 episodes also have a bunch of Shredder gem quotes. I'm sure "Enter the Fly," "Case of the Killer Pizzas," "The Incredible Shrinking Turtles," or "The Evil Eye" would have lots of great "Anti-Turtle" banter.

At the very least, use something with "genetic accidents," which is from the Evil Eye. The line is "Come and get it, you genetic accidents!" That would be perfect for a game taunt.

I always assumed 90's Game! Shredder was purple was to both convey a majestic image and the fact his 87 animated design had too much gray which could clash against the gray backgrounds within the Technodrome stages, which is where you usually fight him.

That sounds about right. Lots of old school games had eye popping sprites to differentiate characters from the backgrounds.


I've been coding an artificial intelligence for my Krang character so that he'll have a few attack patterns and won't be a complete punching bag when controlled by the CPU. Have a look:


On the Shredder front:
-Re-scaled Shredder so that he's closer to the Turtles in height.

-I also sprited a new dashing frame and a new winpose based off of NES Tournament Fighters.


-I've also coded a new attack based on one of those Steel and Bone techniques from Ninja Gaiden.

Shredder lunges towards the opponent, if he hits, he plunges his sword into their middle then rips it out. If the opponent blocks the attack Shredder is put into a special penalty state where he's stunned for a bit and the opponent can counter.
-I'll do 2 other variations with different animations & moveproperties so that each button strength has variety.

Dcat, around the 2minute mark in your video, Krang loses enough of his lifebar to transition into his "flashing" animation (for lack of a better term). I was so impressed by that! I've never seen it done in Mugen before; how did you pull it off?

Also, I need to try to bridle my enthusiasm for your updates and new videos since all my posts tend to all look something like "Oh, wow, dcat, that is AWESOME!" but...
