Discussing Trump is like discussing your sex life. People are gonna end up wishing they hadn't pushed you for details.

But yeah, seriously. To go from discussing your kids to insulting and blocking someone on FB - as well as reneging upon a business arrangement, be it verbal or otherwise - because YOU insisted upon discussing politics when the other party repeatedly and respectfully declined... that makes you the sh*theel in that situation, end of story. Everything would be Fine if the guy had just Let It Be Fine.

That's a big problem I have with people on The Left, and I've said this before. I have friends and acquaintances on all sides of the political spectrum but only ONE group, from what I've seen, barks and hounds and harasses you into either admitting you agree with them, or admitting that you don't, in which case you're literally Hitler.

Fly any flag you want. So long as you don't lie to me, steal from me, or f*ck little kids, we're All Good and we'll stay that way. That's how I was raised, that's how I treat people. No matter how harsh I can be with people whose opinion I don't share/don't understand, it takes a LOT more than a difference of opinion to cut someone off or stop calling them a friend.

Pity the world doesn't work that way anymore. Now it's "You disagree? Then we were NEVER friends."

That's sh*tty. That's just really, really sh*tty. When those people swear up and down that they're The Good Guys, it's even sh*ttier.

Again, not religious. BUT. To me, the whole "walking in the spirit of Christ" thing means that you treat people with kindness and respect and basic decency even if they're NOT exactly like you. And I think too many people ignore that nowadays in the interest of being on "The Winning Team" or "The Right Side Of History".

"Do unto others", etc. etc. I bet if it were in reverse, and someone reneged on a business arrangement with Farley over a difference of political opinion, or even cut friendship/family ties with him, it would sting. None of those things are ultimately supposed to be as important as, "If you're good to me I'll be good to you."

I weep for the state of the world when it takes so little nowadays to put people at each others' throats.

I may be a fool, and sorry in advance for asking but... what about Eastman?
Or Bisley?

I'm sure Kevin's a nice guy, but I think the chances of getting him to illustrate a fan-comic are about as likely as getting Jimmy Paige to play guitar with your garage band. And probably about as expensive.

At this point I wouldn't say no to an IDW artist. On black and white and with digital duoshade every art style can look right.

I doubt it would be a "yes" from any of the IDW artists that I'd be interested in utilizing because they probably want to continue being IDW artists.

I agree with Diorm, a cool cover by one of the "officials" could help you sell the book. You had an Eastman cover for the Image conclusion (even a spread one), wouldn't he be up to do it again? Or maybe you could ask Jim to at least do the cover?

I would enjoy Dario Brizuela as a main artist, I really liked his Tales stuff. Other than that - what about Arseniy? You worked with him before and managed to sell the Image conclusion books without a "big name". (Besides he even is an official TMNT guy thanks to Illusion Studios nowadays. ) Or... Chris Vance? He's currently on art duty for Jim's sold property Dragonfly. When looking at IDW artists Ben Bishop comes into mind (who worked with Kevin on Drawing Blood).

It's crazy that Lawson claims to be "done with comics"... So his Box City Wallops campaign didn't go well? Maybe sending out free TMNT fan comics to everyone was a bit too much on top... He could easily have asked a few extra bucks for those (at least to cover the printing costs). I really hope he'll get back to it sooner or later since I enjoy his content (TMNT and non-TMNT). I have the feeling that crowdfunding simply isn't the right vehicle for him. Many have struggled with Kickstarter before.

Doubtful. When he did the #25 wraparound that was before he was really "in" over at IDW. In fact, at that point in time he was "one of us," trying to broker the Image conclusion to whoever ended up with the rights.

Maybe I'll give it a go.

We never utilized a crowdfunding site for those. I admit, we've talked, it is possible.

I thought it did, but he claims he ended in the red on it somehow. It happens. With "Odyssey" I know I underestimated the printing costs and all of that, hence a bit of a delay.

Isnt he IDW too now? I think he did some "New Animated Adventures" or Animated Batman and TMNT. But it's been years now.

Tristan Jones or Andres Ponce might give a cover a go, pretty big might, I admit. Is Talbot up to anything? I've sadly lost track of many of them in recent years.

Talbot is active on Instagram. Still does nice TMNT pieces.

Ah, neat, good for you. Must've taken some razzle-dazzle to pull that off! Hope you make a million, brother.

So I guess Jim is no longer, "in the red?" I mean not that any of us know about Jim Lawsons financials, but the fact that he made it seem like he was broke from doing fan made comics and will now do another 30-40+ page one is a quick turnaround.
