As a Picard fan, I approve. Fun fact- I actually always found Picard sexier than Kirk. There's just something about a handsome bald Brit....

I want to like star trek again. I really, REALLY do. I can't get my hopes up until it comes out though.

There's nothing to suggest she'll be a regular. Though there does seem to be a big Borg thing going on... maybe recurring guest?

I was thinking future borg queen.

The result of the queen 'merging' with data during FC.

Hard to believe Patrick Stewart is 79 years old, good god, he's nearly 80. And he looks so healthy and can act and everything. If the first season is successful I hope he remains healthy enough to do it for 2-3 years or whatever.

Or they're finally going to make it canon that the V'ger machine race was the Borg and this is a Borg queen as a result of merging with Spock.

Also we've got guest stars from Next Gen and Voyager how about putting a DS9er in the mix too and representing all the Trek series from that era.

This might actually be a return to REAL Trek.

The trailer looks very action oriented, granted they may just be including select shots for that. I don't think it'll be "slow paced" like old Trek, but I guess we'll see.

Jeri Ryan is 52 years old. Good god, she barely looks aged from like 1997. WTF.

If they can all still do this, why tf can't we get them all on board for a LA Gargoyles??!! Just my own personal gripe. I mean, I love me some "real" Trek, and am totally up for this, but (*le sigh*) I REALLY want to see Zanatos, Demona, and maybe even Taurus get a movie. And Titania, Puck, etc....

It's pretty obvious eventually one by one all the TNG main characters will get a cameo in this series if it lasts long enough, unless one of them specifically doesn't want to come back for whatever reason. Riker and Worf are no-brainers to appear as well as Troi at the least.

I don't know if this feels like "real" Trek to me. I saw a comment on another site that this looks more like Logan in space which I'd agree with, heck even the plot seems logan-esque. Not that that's a bad thing, I tend not to get hung up on what "real" Trek is supposed to be.

None of the movies felt that much like the TV shows they were based on and the ones that attempted that are seen to be "bad" ones. I remember how people refused to accept TNG as real Star Trek and similar comments about how DS9 differed from TNG. Then Enterprise was the worst thing to ever happen to Trek until JJ Abrams reboot which I personally thought had a decent start but imploded badly. So I can't really get all bent out of shape about new Star Trek series like Discovery and now Picard changing the formula when that is what Star Trek has long done.

I think the differences in tone will be mitigated with fan favourite guest spots and cameos and frankly every one TNG cast would be up for it apart from Diana Muldaur who I doubt anyone is desperate to see anyway. One recurring I'd like to see is Michelle Forbes as Ro Laren.

You have very good points. Especially about Doctor Pulaski, nobody cares about her.

I think the pros will outweigh the cons with ST: Picard. Discovery has a lot of pros, but a lot of cons as well. Give a Star Trek show long enough (like with Enterprise or TNG), and it will prove itself; the good will rise to match the bad.

All I want to know is, when do we get to see Q again? (And will "Jr" show up?)

I wish this series came out 10 years ago like back around 2010-2011 when the actors were...well...10 years younger than they are now. I have no idea why they waited so long to do something like this, there was certainly TNG "nostalgia" over two decades after it ended. Plus the TNG films already ended in the early 2000's.
