"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" Coming to the CW

On about episode 4 so far. It's still OK. A little bit less so with Sabrina's big speech to the school at the end of the reality stone episode.

As mentioned before... I kind of miss the manic, weird energy of the first season. Where you had no idea what was going to happen. The aunt killing the other aunt over and over again, burying her in the front yard. Random orgies, "hail Satan!" "familiars" doing crazy stuff, and so much off the wall stuff.

Now it's all pretty much by the numbers stuff. Riverdale with SFX.

A little flat of an ending, imo. She dies, none of these people with magic powers can resurrect her or even try, and then the ex/rekindled-30-seconds-ago boyfriend shows up in the same "hereafter" room like, 'Oh, yeah, I just died too,' the end?

They retrieved her body from the void the first time, after already getting her soul into her "twin," so why the heck couldn't they just try to do it again and put her soul back into her own body before she died?

And the struggle for who is ruling hell just remains a plot hole? Among other things.

Although I love that they got the tv show aunts from years ago for a couple of episodes. lol

Took me a little longer than usual but finally finished. Agreed with a few points you made relating to the end.

I wonder if Sabrina dying was always the plan for the end. At the same time though I am not overly surprised that they killed her, I'd more expected other losses rather than her though. This just meant Blackwood won to a point, though he got what was coming to him too.

I also liked the short homage to the older series with the Aunts and Puppet Salem being the start of the show.

We never did find out what became of Sabrina's twin (remember the flashbacks with two babies, one had goat legs) I guess we assumed at the time he or she died? I had wondered if that would crop up during the show.

Edit: just to add a little over all. I didn't binge this season as much as the others, part of that was time but I think I also found it just a little less gripping than the others. I don't know, some of it might the knowing that it was ending and that the writers had to quickly wrap it up due it being dropped.

I'm glad my favourite character didn't die though saying that overall there were a number of good characters in this. I like how the aunt's personalities complimented each other, like one had what the other lacked making them kinda wholesome together (if that makes any sense) I liked how Helda had that warm side but even though she could come across a little timid or less dominant than her sister, she was actually not when it came down to it. (Remembering the time when she poisoned the woman who was going after Zelda)

I think it's been that, for me. The latter. Though it is a bit less gripping. Compared to the sheer random horror and sexual/sensational stuff of the first season or so, this is all become a bit "by the numbers" and tame.

I'm only one episode away from the finale. Really loved the stuff with the Endless and animatronic Salem. Great touches. There is no way, though, that they didn't at least have a conversation with Melissa Joan Hart about some kind of part in the midst of this.

I suspect I'll be unsatisfied with the "series finale." But as we know, it was never supposed to be a series finale. It was supposed to be a, "Oh no, how does Sabrina get out of this? Well, tune in next season to find out!" except there is no new season.
