I'm sure he was right and that most people didn't care about this angle, but I was one of the very few who was into it. I was one of the very vocal minority who hated the "Attitude" stuff, so I was somewhat excited at the outset when "more traditional wrestling" was to be showcased in this angle.

That... didn't turn out to be what happened. .

I was also always a big Jeff Jarrett fan, so while I was annoyed at him having left WCW he was one of the few guys in the WWF I'd bother paying any attention to. That whole thing turned out to be a huge fumble.

Anyways, not a great angle but one of the few things from that era of the WWF which I have any vivid memories of.

I always did like that Jeff Jarret '97 'shoot', he worked a programme with The Undertaker not long after, I'm surprised Bios glossed over it

Sh*t, even I don't remember that, must have ben a real "blink-and-you-missed-it" kinda thing.

Jarrett might've over-stepped a little bit in that promo but Austin shutting down ever working with him after that comes off as incredibly petty. But then he sort of made that a habit later on, refusing to work with guys for various reasons.

Mercedes Martinez and Jake Atlas??? Does Triple H just not know how to handle indie stars anymore? Wtf.

They got to Mercedes ten years too late. I was on some of my first-ever shows with her, and literally everybody in the locker room was like, "Damn, she's going places if there's any f*cking justice." And she got there, eventually, but... for whatever reason she wasn't high enough on their radar when she really should've been and they got her after her prime. She could still have some value in her but I guess they don't see it that way. I kinda don't think they ever did, or they would've picked her up sooner; as it is I think she was someone they initially signed just so nobody else would get her.
-----------

Had a pretty easy tag match this afternoon. Few iffy spots but nothing I was involved in. Clean win with my finish. Whooo.

1- Not to discredit her amazing skill (she outlasted Tessa in a 75 minute Iron Man match once) but I always wondered if the only thing missing that didnt't quite get her 'there' at least by WWE standards is that she wasn't 'hot'. IDK. Superficial way to look at it, but this is still WWE. If it were 100% up to them and they didn't have to cater to the audience once in a while, Nia Jax wouldn't even be there. Being the botch machine that she is, I'm convinced they only keep Nia around because of her family roots and to cater to the um.. 'big girl' demographic.

2- Bout time these ****ers let you win a match.

On other news, one of my fave indie babes Hawlee Cromwell has been talking about being in an abusive relationship with 'someone' for a while now on that there Twitter. She never named him and every now and then she would post something 'I can't believe my abuser is still out there' and things of that nature.

Not to throw shade on this because she's a fave of mine, but I don't want to take sides, but as usual with cases like this where for whatever reason they always wait until the person is at their highest spot, she officially called out Darby Allin as the abuser yesterday on Twitter..... just as it's rumored he's about to have a big match with CM Punk.

I don't know what to say on both sides of the fence here, the timing is very sus, based on her own confession it just sounded like Darbs was just a really ****** boyfriend, but I will wait until more info comes out before believing or not believing.

Let's not forgot how some girl accused Enzo Amore, which didn't help matters cause people naturally hated him, it ruined his life and then a year later she comes out and admits she was lying. I'm not falling for that **** again. Innocent before guilty, always.

I forgot to mention we had Moose from Impact Wrestling, and Shawn Donovan and Brian Cage from AEW at our show this afternoon. So that was pretty cool.

Dave says the plan is to go back to an earlier model for NXT...no guys over 30, no 'midgets', focus will be on young and big talent who have the tools to be main characters, there will still be 'exceptions' like Adam Cole if they are able to get over and stand out.

So what's gonna happen to throwbacks like Fin and Ember?

Balor's been buried twice on Smackdown now hasn't he? Jumped by Corbin a week ago, pummelled by Reigns this past Friday.

Here's hoping the "Guys from NXT get promoted to the Big Brands and then do f*ck-all nothing for two years before getting quietly released" tradition stays true as well.

Seriously, what a sh*t company. If anybody else provided decent health insurance nobody would ever sign with WWE.

Happy birthday to Alexa Bliss.

She's honestly one of the main reasons I've bothered with WWE in the last few years. I haven't watched a show since the pandemic began, but I check her segments in Youtube and such.

I'm not going to elaborate more because this is apparently supposed to be a family friendly forum even though 99% of us are adults here. . But most straight male wrestling fans would agree with me about Alexa. If not, then I'm afraid you might play for the other team...

We all love her sexy lil biscuit ass. Ain't no shame in saying it. We've said worse.
