He said "Well the Turtle WAS the opposing force...." Referring to the "Turtle" who acted as the guardian and guide of the kids in the book.

So confused now. lol Had to look it up as I'm only familiar with the original film (among other King films) and the only book I've actually read is "Lisey's Story," so a Stephen King multiverse is foreign, unknown territory... (Waaahhh...?)
Though the turtle connection adds more weight to the vaguely IT-ish ep of the 2003 series. o.O Hmmm... |

What comic and issue was THAT in??!!
And that episode was TECHNICALLY more Lovecraft than King. C'Thulu all the way..... Though I can see where you might think of that. Both were "ancient otherworldly evil" beings.

OH!! Thought you were referring to an actual issue of TMNT. Not too far from some of the Mirage or even Archie stuff, from what I've seen. (And now I want to see an issue like that lol!)

I can't recall if the Turtles ever faced a clown character in any series.

Not that I've ever seen. Though there WAS that weird "jester" in IDW. (It was actually Splinter in disguise.) He kicked their tails.

Clowns, no. But I have taken that one ep I was talking about being vaguely IT-like in some regard (and C'Thulu as well, as Duckie mentioned, though I'm only loosely familiar with that one) since it plays on the whole nightmare stuff and kinda has the "deadlights" type thing going on near the end. (Can't remember if IT had trapped victims too or not.)
Though now I want a real TMNT/IT crossover. Last edited by IndigoErth; 10-10-2017 at 09:05 PM. |

Nope "It" just killed and "fed" on them. The only ones who saw the deadlights were Bill and Richie(briefly) and Audra(Bill's wife after they grew up).
C'Thulu was part of the Elder Gods created by Lovecraft. They were supposed to be from an ancient "Far Realm" dimension. Funny thing- the Necronomicon mentioned in Evil Dead was actually an invention for one of Lovecraft's tales that people became convinced it was a real book. Some even began asking where to find it. So he got the idea to make "ghost copies" in the card catalogs of libraries everywhere he went that were somehow always checked out as a joke. Then he eventually actually wrote it. World's most elaborate prank by a writer with a twisted sense of humor. (Never read any of his stories but I have a copy of the Necronomicon and it is amusingly nothing like people think it is!) And that crossover idea sounds like a winner!

The Wizard of Oz...but with general American literature characters, with character matches to their closest persona.
Sure, Dorothy stays. But the Scarecrow? Ichabod Crane. Described as a Scarecrow, is very intelligent, but comes off as not very bright. The Tinman? Paul Bunyan. Annnd that's about as far as I can think, tbh, but I think that might be a cool Oz interpretation. Can't think of any major lions in American Literature besides The Cowardly Lion.

It's supposed to be for a heritage homestead informational about beekeeping, but all their ads about beekeeping have a rather ominous edge.
They even have things about keeping goats, but those aren't quite as creepy sounding Though, the funniest thing about that ad is the obviously photoshopped-on flower and bee.

Is there a word for the fear of walking around with your fly down? ‘Cause I kind of have that.
Every time I leave the restroom I check and double check that I’m zipped up multiple times. Whenever I change I do the same. And whenever I arrive at work I check while I’m in the car. I REALLY don’t want to be caught with my fly down. Especially not at work. I absolutely hate it when someone has to tell me that it’s down. It’s so embarrassing. |
