Question Favourite incarnation of Shredder - poll

I don't know if this has been done recently - I couldn't find anything similar at least.
Favourite "main" incarnation of Shredder? I.E., not Raph Shredder, not Karai Shredder, or Cyber Shredder, etc... For sake of simplicity, just the "main" ones (definition could be applied rather broadly, I know, but go with it).

Andrew did a favourtie Shredder design recently (I think it was Andrew?), I guess this is character also so it's slightly different.

Oh, I missed that somehow! But yeah... this is over all favourite version, all factors considered, not just look/aesthetics/design.

Honestly, that line never even ever crosses my mind. I've never read any of them and it didn't even occur to me

My favourite is the Original Cartoon Shredder by far.

I love all the Shredders but the Original Cartoon Shredder's humour and interactions with Krang stand out for me despite his relative incompetence. Plus, when he does do something dangerous, it stands out and he has a pretty cool design.

Shredder could've done more than blow up the Channel Six building. I don't mean as far as murdering Splinter, but think of the possibilities if censors were not an issue.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

I can't really place a vote not having read the comics to get an idea of the character and not properly seeing 2k3s Shredder yet either.
I like Nicks as I have pointed out before, I like KMR's voice for him too.
Recently familiar with OT, he suits that show, also a good design.

I had a hard time voting. It is a toss-up between OT and IDW, but the 80's series won out on the end. Not because he was especially "good" per se, but because his characterization is SOOO perfect for the series, and Avery's voice acting was AMAZING! He spanned such a great range of emotions, and went from super-serious to drop-dead funny so easily. So it gets my vote, in spite of the fact that IDW' s version had so much depth and was very interesting and well-written. Nick Shredder came in pretty close too, because of the great backstory and his ruthlessness and the fact he actually killed Splinter. (Sort of.)

I'm torn between IDW and 23K.

IDW because he actually gets sh!t done for the most part and has a lot more rounding to his story, especially in that he's basically just a puppet for a witch with daddy issues. A puppet that was putty in her hands. He's someone who wants control of his own life - something that he's pretty much never had. Especially when, all things considered, his life isn't his own. He's a reincarnation of another man, and just not any man, but his father's sworn enemy.

23K almost had something interesting with Shredder as an Utrom, but it fell flat on its face by the show's utter black and white morals and refusal to hear out another side's perspective on certain events. And this basically just sums up where a lot of those issues could have been fixed. We could have had someone calling out on the 23K Utroms for having some frankly susicious activity (as was finally revealed in vol 4 of Mirage), but nope! Gotta have a Napoleon Complex and take over all the things with no real reason for it.

...Huh...yeah with that said, I'm going to go with IDW. It's using its potential where 23K squandered it on screaming and unclear motivations.

The entire Technodrome interaction in that series is great. Same with Channel 6 and the turtle's hideout.

Went with FW Shredder, a good villain and James Avery did a great job.
