Pretty much everything TMNT related has something to do with Nick these days. Even in the comics they seem to want to get creatively involved barring TLR. It was even Nickelodeon who chose Dan Duncan as the initial artist for the IDW run.

IDW deserves the credit here but I’m just clarifying that Nick does have a say over who does what with this license. I think Nick needs to be included when we discuss most facets of the TMNT as long as they own the property because approval actually is a huge part of the process and we know they like to get creatively involved based on interviews with IDW and Kevin.

I was recently given the same response when I praised the IDW comics line as one of the positive aspects of Nick’s ownership over TMNT, but we really can’t severe their affiliation with the comics just because it’s a licensing deal. It’s all under their umbrella and they do get creatively involved.

Although compared with Mirage, TLR is still much watered down. Except for the flashback scene where Raph massacred the foot soldiers, the rest is kinda meh and maybe even anticlimax. I would rather TLR focus more on Mikey's present timeline story and how he will kill his enemies for revenge.

Regarding the Last Ronin, Nickelodeon was nice enough to allow a studio to work on a video game adaption, But not in any other form of media like a movie or TV series.

Nickelodeon caters to kids, And the Last Ronin is geared to a mature audience, Which isn't there demographic.

The Old Turtle Den mentioned my tweet about the crossover.

Do you guys think they will use that sword to bring this other turtles to TMNT 1987 universe? By the way TMNT Saturday Morning Adventures issue 11 might not be last time sword will cause trouble in this comic so who knows

Its possible that the sword can be used to bring characters from other universes.

Yes, by the way I hope that issues 13 and 14 both will feature this other turtles and not only issue 13 but I will be fine either way, the fact that this is happening is pretty exciting guys

While the quality of TLR is subjective - I think it’s great not perfect - the violence and maturity level has not been toned down from Mirage, if that’s what you mean. TLR is quite violent, especially The Lost Years.

Nick has definitely been shy about adult-aimed TMNT content but with The Last Ronin they let them off the leash. It seems they are still too shy for a movie adaptation right now but I think they will allow an animated version soon enough. It’s getting harder to deny the success. It’s still a top-selling book on Amazon and people are buying it at Target of all places.

This issue is a part of an upcoming multi-part storyline called "Ogglympics" where Mister Ogg has the FW Turtles compete in various challenges so they can prevent themselves from being wiped from existence. I'm guessing this Turtles vs. Turtles thing is one of said events, and Ogg used his powers to pluck each member of the opposing team from their home realities.

This issue will lead to issue 14 where they face 2012's Tiger Claw.

So do you think he might send them back at end of issue 13? Would be good if they also appear in issue 14 though but we have to wait and see what will happen

So I think it will be same versions from Mirage comics, 2003, 2012 and Rise cartoons, also this is same characters as in 1987 series that appear in this comic book series

There hasn't been a female turtle in TMNT 87 universe, The closest being Mona Lisa who is a salamander.

Yes, but other turtle teams who will be in this crossover also doesn't have a female turtle so it will also be surprising for them
