Seriously, though. It turns out comics were the perfect medium to continue this version. Every time any show tries to have an 80s cartoon episode, it never looks right, because the art and animation is always too "clean." But the art in some of these issues could be stills from the show.

Lineart and shading are stunning. Especially the shading.
I like they lean more into style of first two seasons, rather than a bit more simplified style of seasons 3-6.

It is really good art, but Ogglympics arc which will be issues 12-15 will be done by Sarah Myer so it looks like when crossover issues come out it won't be done in style of TMNT 1987 show but I don't mind it because we will get crossover between: Mirage, 1987, 2003, 2012 and Rise TMNT in issue 13, what do you guys think?

Huh?
Shouldn't 87'Turtles still look like themselves? Its the whole point of crossover after all.

They will look like themselves, but different artist might draw those issues than artist who draw Sword of Eddiku arc

I thought the 2012 show did a pretty good job in the Bebop and Rocksteady arc at the end.

It definitely looked like cheap flash animation the first time the 87 turtles showed up.

Highlight of this one was definitely the joke about Leo being able to understand Japanese after time-traveling. Also thought the pigs from the Usagi episode were a fun cameo.

This shows that sword can also bring characters from other universes so it might have a role in bringing this other turtle teams to TMNT 1987 universe

I think Mister Ogg will bring the other Turtles. The story with the sword will end in the next issue.

I would guess it was their posts in the Gina Carano thread maybe? They were pretty aggressive.

In synopsis for issue 11 it says they will deal with rips in reality, maybe that is where this Turtles will come to TMNT 1987 universe than in issue 13 they will play bigger role but you might be right I guess we have to wait and see what will happen

I find it interesting that Shredder went to the red sky years. Think the art style for the turtles is going to change to that?

The art looks straight out of season 1 of the 80s series. It's as if Peter Chung himself penciled this issue.

He didn't actually. This series in general is just set post-Season 7 where Shredder and crew are stuck on Earth, thus they have the same headquarters. (Which they got in the first episode of Season 8, meaning that this is most likely an alternate timeline take on Season 8 that keeps closer to the previous seven in style and tone.)

I really love the art I'm seeing in the scans you guys post. But I haven't been buying this book and I need to backfill the series or pick it up in trade at some point.
