I’m actually looking forward to this. I always feel like MiB is something that potentially could have an expansion universe akin to the big boys like Star Wars and evolve past just Lee and Smith, But I do feel like it may be too little to late for it.

I mean outside of the cartoon they had did MiB have anything to expand upon the films?

Outside of that? the trailer doesn’t really show much outside of what we associate with the MiB name so I can’t really say much of the film aside from “Yep, looks like man in blac

Possibly, but for me... they already had 3 movies and they never really wowed me. Maybe if they were actually "laugh out loud" funny. They suffer from a lot of... really, really white people writing jokey material for black guys. Like the Bad Boys movies (also not funny).

Looks awesome. I love the MIB movies. Anyone writing it off just because it’s not Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones can keep right on hating. It’s the perfect way to expand the franchise.

This is exactly the direction Ghostbusters should have gone. Same continuity but different team.

To be honest, I only ever watched the first one and some of the second one. I was at least lucky enough to catch the Michael Jackson scene, so that was nice. Haha.

I've never sat and watched them, frankly, but I've seen huge chunks of all three when other people are watching them in an adjacent room, usually while I'm cooking.

So I've gotten the gist, but never laughed once. I gather that they're supposedly comedies - which I'm generally not a huge fan of, anyway - but they didn't come across as very funny. Mostly just Fresh Prince doing his usual "Oh, HELL naw!" gimmick, but played against Tommy Lee Jones "cranky old white guy" gimmick for maximum contrast. Might've been a funny SNL skit, once upon a time, but I'unno if we needed a whole movie, let alone three or four-ish. Premise seems thin.

That's kind of my problem with comedies in general; things that are funny for 3-5 minutes, usually aren't funny when stretched over 90 minutes. Physicists call it the "Adam Sandler Effect", in homage to the fact that his albums are brilliant but his movies are ungodly terrible. Same thing.
