TMNT 1 is not impossible. You just need to train harder! I love that game. So many good memories. Everyone hates the dam, but I mean all you have to do is switch out your Turtles to keep them all alive. Pretty easy.

Yeah, just use the code that appears after the equal sign on the Youtube url between the tags.

Nice job not freaking out in the Technodrome Death Tunnel. Those jetpack guys are the worst! You gotta inch your way forward very cautiously. I usually like to have two or three turtles equipped with scrolls for that section (in case I accidentally pick up a different weapon or something), but you survived on more meager armaments!

So good to see other folks who really love the first NES game!

Thanks for the posting tip, oldmanwinters!

Yeah, the jetpack guys are annoying, especially when they spawn slightly too low to duck like they did here!

NES (Played it again yesterday for the first time in probably close to 20 years. Still loved it.)
Arcade
Radical Rescue (Very underrated)
Manhattan Project
Hyperstone Heist
Turtles in Time (The G.O.A.T.)
Re-Shelled
Out of the Shadows (I love this game and think it did a lot of the Arkham combat better in certain respects. Would love a big budget sequel with the kind of polish that this game lacks.)
Tournament Fighters (It's been years and I can't remember if it was SNES or Genesis)

I think that's all of the games I've played and beaten. I have the 4Kids GBA and DS games on tap but haven't gotten around to playing them yet. I've thought about checking out the PS2 versions of those games but to me the handheld side scrollers look way more interesting (and less glitchy/janky) than their 3D beat'em up counter parts.

I've beaten TMNT lost in time a few times, being it on the Arcade or SNES. I don't like the latest version though, I'd rather have the cartoony 2D look.

I've also beaten the old Game Boy game, very simple but also too much fun. I guess it was titled "Fall of the Foot Clan", while it wasn't as good as the SNES one (obviously) it was also fun.

Can anybody tell me if there any contemporary games as good as these I just mentioned?

I beat a lot of them.

I beat:

TMNT Smash- Up PS2
TMNT 03 PS2
TMNT 03 BATTLE NEXUS PS2, GBA
Teenage mutant ninja turtles the manhattan project NES
Teenage mutant ninja turtles arcade game, (Unlockable on Battle nexus for ps2)
TMNT TURTLES IN TIME SNES
TMNT The hyperstoine heist, Mega drive (Genesis)
Both of the TMNT games on dos, Trust me they suck big time.

Did it take you until your high school days or even young adulthood to beat one? Share your stories here and be sure to drop by when you do to share your triumph!
TMNT 1 took me a LONG time to beat legitimately. I started playing that game in 1994 and it took me until 2010 to beat it on a Nintendo without save states.

I have proof of it though:

I started playing TMNT 2: The Arcade Game around the same time as Turtles 1. I was about nine years old when I beat it the first time from start to finish.1995-2000.

I got pretty good at this game over the years and I can now beat it on one life:

I didn't play The Manhattan Project until I was nine and it only took me about six months to beat it. 1999

Turtles in Time took about 3 years for me to complete on the regular mode. 1995-1998

The Hyperstone Heist I beat on my first attempt. 1997

Ninj turtles tournament fighters for genesis...I did beat on easy mode, but not hard difficulty (I mentioned in an earlier thread that I beat Karai on the SNES version).

Side-question: Why take Shredder out of the Genesis version of tournament fighters?

After seeing TMNT from Michael Bay, I saw Turtles in Time in the little arcade section.
I beat it with Raphael with ONE quarter.

I beat all of the first 3 2k3-era video games on normal (although technically on the second one, I still have to win the tournaments). I'm hoping to do the same with the Mutant Melee game I'm expecting this week.

I've beaten the TMNT Smash Up missions today. I love this game, although I could do without the Rabbids.
