Krang = Emperor of the Dark Side?
Here's a further Star Wars similarity. Right, the Technodrome's like the Death Star, Shredder's like Darth Vader, Splinter's like Obi-wan, Leonardo's like Luke Skywalker as he is the goody- two shoes of the 4 turtle's, Raphael's a bit like Han Solo providing the humour and sarcasm.
All he needs to do is call Leonardo "kid"! Both Krang and the Emperor are lazy they sit back in their domain and let somebody else do the dirty work. They seem almost untouchable or one of the last to reach. They have no friends only allies, and are evil. Another thing, the emperor sits back in his throne-like chair in Return of the Jedi. In the episode "Dinosaurs at the Earth's Core" Krang is seen in the Technodrome, in android body, sitting in a throne-like chair in the same pose, scarily reminiscent of the Emperor of the Dark Side!!! |

I always compared Casey Jones to Han Solo. The normal guy who doesn't believe in the spiritual path and feels fine kicking ass with what he's got.
But who can compare to Chewbacca? Certainly not Splinter.

Oh yeah! Shredder saying "I am your father" in the movie.
The makers might've added as a joke or tribute to Star Wars. They didn't use their creative minds to think that one up! |

All of TMNT was influenced by Peter Laird's love of Star Wars and sci-fi in general.

Anyway, comparing Krang to Palpatine seems like giving Krang more credit than he deserves. Krang is more like an ultra-pathetic Jabba. |

Why are there two threads that are well more than ten years old coming back???
Buuuuuut...I'm going to call comparing Krang to Palpatine generous at bet. But also put him at least a few steps above Jabba. He's doesn't really stoop to that level of hedonism - and seems seems almost chastely asexual in comparison as well. And, except for sending Shredder out to do his dirty work, he does quite a lot for himself. Shredder's just an errand boy at the end of the day.

It's kind of funny, some people here now were only babies or not even born yet when some of us started posting here in 2002-2004.

It's so weird to think I was already a teenager in the early 2000's and so many other people were just kids. I feel like my generation was part of the "first wave" of internet fandom. Those of us who came online for the first time around the late 90's and early 2000's. And since back then the internet had just started, there was no "decades of past posts" on forums like this one or others...
Man it was like the wild west. No social media, no youtube or streaming media, you guys will never know what it was like. |

Actually, this was probably made by the other original RaphAttack. When I asked Krang to merge my old account with Cylons, he accidentally merged an account that was almost identical in name.
No, I don't do Star Wars. Never have. Now, if this had been a Star Trek comparison...
