the DreamEX line was licensed just to sell in China though. stores found a way around the restrictions and i bought my set from BBTS. when April (Newshen) came out the lost the license but the design was so far along they released her with a different name

the quality of these figures are pretty nice, though lacking in articulation. you wont get any dynamic poses with them single jointed elbows and knees, no bicep swivel, or waste articulation but their design is just so cool. i like the real metal weapons too

How similar are the Mirage Shredder and the Video Game Shredder's sculpts?

Pictures of both make them look like the same figures, repainted and minus the cape.

I could be wrong though

There aren't any bootlegs of the 2017 SDCC toon Shredder, but he is in the 2-pack with Leo at Target. That is the best way to get him considering people are charging more than the 2-pack for just Shredder on eBay.

He really is worth picking up. I'd say it's my favorite Shredder figure to this day.

Opened the bootlegs today. I have some things to say about them.

1. They are exceptional quality. If you told me they were legit, I wouldn't second guess it at all. The sculpting and the overall feel are amazing

2. They've now gotten rid of the ab crunch articulation, but the waist swivel is still there. but for some reason, the waist swivel only seems to work on Raph, and not on the others.

3. Judging by the past complaints I've heard, the front shell seems to be now cast from a much softer plastic, as Raph's waist swivel works perfectly, with no interference

4. Some of the joints were overly stiff, most noticeably on Mikey and Leo's lower right leg, and felt like i was going to break them. This has flaked some paint off, which shows the figures were molded in an off grey plastic, then painted in Green. I always assumed that the legit NECA figures were cast in green plastic

5. Some paint applications aren't great. Leo's sword blades, Donnie's Bo Wrap, Raph's Sai, Mikey's Nunchucks and Don's shell all have dabs of paint which are the wrong colors

6. I prefer the blueish shell color over the legit's Green shells

I'm going to go and fix up the dodgy paints and put some details back on, like the front of Raph's mask for example

Also, while trying to get Leo's waist swivel to work, I heard a loudish cracking sound, but have no idea what caused it

Thanks for this, very informative I just purchased these like a week ago waiting for them to pass customs. Found a legit foot set for 100 today cant wait to display them all together!!

Brilliant. The other day, I found that all the Turtle's waist swivels will work, it just appeared that the paint had dried the joint shut. I got a small flat head screwdriver, put it in between the gap and VERY gently tapped a few times and VERY gently pushed it apart, and it works

I'm thinking about adding the NYCC Neca Shredder and Foot Solidiers set to my collection. Anyone know how to distinguish the difference between an authentic set and a bootleg. I've been looking on Bay but I can't seem to find something that distinguishes them.

Pretty good they aren't even hiding the fact these are KO. I do wonder how they stack up to legit figures.
