I just found out that the mini-turtles I have are not the same as the muta-force pilots. They may be from the same mold, but the MF pilots have color-matched bandana on their arms and legs, whereas mine are brown.

random 2k3esque shirt, got from my lovely fiancee at the tail end of last year, from Primark (for about £8ish...) I find it pretty neat that this is on the go, as the majority of stuff you find over here is pyjama bottoms, socks and boxers, all based on the OT TMNTs...

Yeah, me too
Also it sucks that ussualy the shirts (if i can find some on polish auctions) are very small and more for kids than adults. Rarely i can find t-shirt in XL or XXL sizes. |

Alright, guys. So a few months ago Stingray was kind enough to post a turtle pie recipe. Over my Christmas break (I'm a teacher and had a few weeks off, so I went back home to Cleveland to visit family and friends), a buddy of mine and I decided to give it a try. We followed this recipe almost completely faithfully, but there are a few comments/suggestions I would make.
First, for the glaze, we skipped using the "dry milk" and just added a few tablespoons of 2% milk instead. Seemed to be fine. Second, the pudding filling recipe will in fact produce pudding, but we had a heck of a time doing it in the microwave. It works significantly better on the stove top, though it was sickeningly sweet. We also used 2 TABLEspoons of butter, not 2 TEAspoons of butter. The biggest issue was the sweetness of the pudding. I'd suggest cutting the amount of sugar or just buying some instant vanilla pudding. As the recipe is, it made the pies almost inedible. We also had a tough time getting warm, not fully thickened pudding to stay inside the pie. Something cold would probably have been better. Third, the pie crust ingredients worked, but I wouldn't make 12 little pies. We could hardly fit any pudding inside, and we had better luck making 6-8 pies instead. Fourth, the deep frying directions worked fine, but our pies came out a little brown/crispy. Perhaps slightly reducing the temperature would be advisable. Anyway, here are a few pictures from our adventure. My friend is a bachelor and believe me, he had a culinary-challenged bachelor's kitchen (e.g. he had only one measuring cup). If we could pull it off, just about anyone could. Oh, and the final picture is of some TMNT cookies we decorated. Quote:

A special edition of the TMNT silver round!
A while back, I posted an image of the 1 oz. .999 silver coin for the first movie. Apparently, I also found some pictures of a limited edition set that some of these coins were issued with. This is similar to one of those US Mint's Prestige Proof Sets that were once issued in the '80s and '90s, with the fine fabrics on the package. This recently sold for $50. Silver is down a bit from about six months ago, so that may come down a bit more perhaps.
