10 year anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

That fateful night was 10 years ago today. Where were you when the bomb dropped?

I think I largely ignored it. Wasn't until the sequel where an on-film appearance of the cartoon characters made me go "ehhhhhh, I'll check it out'.

The Turtles had "lips", man. Lips.

I don't remember much about the movie aside from loling at the egregious product placement. I do however remember the constant mockery it received on this board, and some posters hated it so intently that they bordered on insane.

A fascinating Frankenstein of a movie. Some truly awful choices in it but the movie itself wasn't terrible. Then as 2016 proved, only the wrong lessons were learned from it. Then, with Mutant Mayhem, even more wrong lessons were learned.

It was all because of Michael Bay and his original plans for that movie.

I honestly don't think enough about this movie to remember that it's the 20th anniversary.

You're right, it was worse! And they definitely learned nothing for the sequel just for it to suck as bad as it's predecessor.

Hating on this movie online was more fun than watching the actual product.

Shredder and Krang combined had the biggest arsenal of any villains in all of the cartoons.

Ten years, back when Megan Fox was still looking good and natural.

Yeah I’ll give them that. They somehow pulled off all those late stage rewrites and reshoots.

As for the awful choices… just, why???

Why make the turtles 10 feet tall and bullet proof?

Ninjas are cool. Everyone likes ninjas. Why turn the foot into some weird terrorist mercenary group?

Why remove Hamato Yoshi?

Man, this place was NUTS back then. This was like at the height of me running my mouth here, and even I steered clear of this section.

Shouts out to samxsteel or whatever.

Is this true? Hasn’t she just always looked like a Botox bimbo? I thought she was fine in the role, but I never got the hype. Even when Transformers first came out and I was a horny 15 year old, she was just alright.

I do remember learning that Jane Levy auditioned for the role. Which kinda bummed me out because she was always my fan cast April, but it’s probably for the best that she wasn’t attached to this turd.
