Definitely the best episode of Season 3 so far, it was amazing! Can't wait for them to return to NY next week.

Let's get down to business! To defeat Shred-head!~

Great episode! Definitely one of my top favorites from Season 3. It was nice seeing the turtles focus on their weaknesses. Also, finally seeing Splinter again (and using the 90s scene to do so no less) in what seems like ages was wonderful!

The Goonies reference by Raph was a nice touch as well. xD

Finally, an excellent episode! We finally get to see what so many of us had wanted, expressing how the Turtles can use their spirits, ninja powers, and ultimately conquer by themselves through the magic of some spiritual references. It leaves you wondering whether these enemies are real or not yet it clearly is one of the deepest emotions that any non-comic TMNT adventure has provided with us. Very nicely paced, starting with Leo's message through several different exercises, with the deer representing Hamato Yoshi's spirit, while the enemies can venture anywhere, and this provides a key turning point in the series. The ending was fairly abrupt, but it sounds like we'll see the sewers and Kraang very soon.

Overall: 9/10

I think I'm finally warming up to Seth Green as Leonardo. Seems like he definitely got into the role now, and it fits with Leo's new mature attitude.

Did anyone spot a Hayao Miyazaki reference with the deer?

I guess this northampton arc has finally ended, if you can call it an arc.

It was great that we can finally have a episode that focus on the turtles as a whole.

Granted the episode ended pretty quick as it was, so that wouldn't have helped any more.

But honestly, I'm glad they took it out, once the episode got serious, it needed to stay that way. When the writers take the scenes serious, you know to take them very serious.

I noticed they cut out Raph's 'fired up' joke from the storyboards. Understandable, they had to cram a lot of awesome into a small amount of time. Fantastic episode! I'm ready to go back.. to NYC!

Woo! Nice. Really wasn't sure for a min there with that music in the early part, but great when it turned serious and was in contrast to the start of it. Awesome that they really did do the camp fire Splinter thing.

Thought it might leave me still wishing they'd still spread it out across a few episodes, but that worked out pretty well.

So what did all the Japanese symbols on the flags mean in this episode?

Obviously in terms of story progression this was the best episode, but in terms of thorough enjoyment, I enjoyed this one as much as In Dreams.

I've enjoyed a lot of the season, so it's good we got one that did that and progressed back to NY.

Also liked they didn't spoiler anything else on the next episode. I think the original preview did enough, I want to be in complete darkness going into "Return to New York"

This was a great episode, I wish it had been an hour. Probably my favorite this season.

Anyone else notice Donnie shoving April aside to get to Leo?

Loved the Goonies reference.

Mikey was my favorite, I hope he uses what he's learned when they go back. For some reason, he is the one I think is the most badass when he goes into serious fighting mode.

Leo finally figuring out his leg was still hurting because of fear, which is what I thought he sort of figured out last episode.
Seth makes Leo so much more gruff sounding and a lot tougher.

This was my biggest problem with the episode. I wish they would tone Mikey down for episodes like this.

Similarly I was saying to myself during commercials that I want a full half hour without the darn commercials. lol An hour would be even better. If only...

They're not Japanese, they're Chinese characters. And their English translation is at the bottom of this image:
