It certainly taking established characters and turning them into a parody of themselves, but that parody is far more self aware and meta textual, whereas the 80s TMNT was a cash grab of epic proportions.

It's a comedy show and it's not like the original show didn't act self-aware and went chibi all the time, that was the appeal of the show, it didn't take itself seriously either all the time. |

I didn't hate it at first....but all the characters started acting the same...stupid and silly. I mean I get it's a comedy but having some variety and consistency between characters would be nice.....
also they started showing it soooo much on CN....Even my mom started getting annoyed when she was trying to find other cartoon shows for my little brother to watch XD...and she knows nothing about the show itself. and lastly...at least for me....The message of the show is the same, nothing gets learned. That's literally the joke for 90% of the episodes, not learning their mistakes in the end.....I know it's a comedy but it makes the characters extremely unlikeable. but with all that said, the movie looks pretty funny XD

Jimmy Kimmel as Batman, ok
I would have preferred Jimmy Fallon. I now want to watch this movie a little less. |

Tara Strong says that if the TTG movie goes well, the sixth season of the original Teen Titans will be produced and aired alongside another season of TTG

I could give a **** about critics, but I'm so happy people are liking it just because of the reaction that some people are sure to have.

I saw it on Friday night. Absolutely hilarious. There's a some toilet humor to keep the kids happy, but overall it's jam-packed with jabs at every part of superhero culture.
Highly recommended to anyone who is into the superhero genre. |

The movie is #5 at the box office. That's shocking considering the movie has a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. I guess DC can't catch a break.

What’s shocking is that it even made the top 5. Sounds good.

I generally like Teen Titans Go! episodes but I had a hard time getting motivated to go see this in an actual theatre. Seems like the kind of thing I just watch on cable in a couple of years. But... maybe I will get around to it. I'm hoping they kept the budget modest ($10 if Box Office Mojo is accurate) and that whatever the film makes on top of its debut will be icing on the cake. But, then again, I think Warners really wanted this movie to be a smash hit, so I dunno...

Caught this this afternoon and enjoyed it a bunch.
Though, I will say that I thought the joke density would be higher.

Interesting that it's another movie to score better with the critics than the audience. I'm not sure how to account for that with a show/movie marketed primarily to kids with short attention span.
